OMG... It MOVED!!!
Okay... I know this might sound stupid... I know that they start to move around week nine, give or take, but it just never crossed my mind that I might SEE my baby MOVE!!
I just got back from my u/s and I was delighted to hear that all was going well and I was delighted to hear the heartbeat again, but I was BLOWN AWAY when I saw him/her MOVE! Now THAT was WILD. And I think... I think... I just might... maybe.... actually be on my way to getting my brain to believe this is real. It could dismiss the little grainy blob on the hazy TV screen and it could dismiss the little thump-thump-thump-thump-thump of the heartbeat but I think seeing it move might have actually made my brain wake up and smell the baby shampoo!!

ooofff... that's got to be rough on you guys. But at least he'll be home not too long after the birth.
Afghanistan :(. Another year deployment. I'm not sure it's even sunk in yet. I've made plans to go home and stay close to my parents, but the reality of it being next month... just seems impossible! He should get his two weeks R&R to be home with me when the baby is due. Then 6 months later he will be home again. Just praying that the pregnancy and then taking care of an infant alone (along with school and work) will make the time go by fast.

so i got my appt moved from thursday to friday and then to today so my husband could come. I feel like you, we had an ultra sound done and i didn't see a heartbeat right away and immediately i didn't worry because the baby was doing flips and kicking and punching and sucking it's thumb, it was AMAZING! I've never heard my husband giggle like a little school girl before! We both had the hugest smiles on our faces! Because of all it's movement, the baby's heart rate was 181. I asked her if that was really high but she said he was just really active! She also got a pic from bottom up, there's a penis. But i'm only 12 weeks so i'm not completely convinced it's for sure a boy since the parts are just now beginning to differentiate. That makes sense right? We go back in 4 weeks (may 26 i'll be 16 weeks) to do the big ultra sound and know the sex for sure. My husband is deploying sometime between may 29 and june 5 so we're both ECSTATIC he'll be here to know the gender!
awe i'm so excited for you! i'm hoping to see the same this friday. HOORAY for healthy babies and the smell of baby shampoo!
