ha ha... yes, this is what I keep thinking!
I hear ya about sleeping. I don't have hip problems but it seems every night gets a little bit harder to get and stay comfortable. And there's nothing I hate more than interrupted sleep! At least crappy sleep will prepare us for lack of and interrupted sleep once the babies are here.
Ha ha... isn't THAT the truth! I just want my hips to stop hurting!!! But I got a new mattress and I can get through a longer period of the night without them hurting (used to be that I'd wake up every couple of hours in agony) so I'm thinking I should change my schedule and sleep for about 5 hours at night and then nap for 2 or 3 hours in the afternoon!!
Saw the dr Monday. She said joint pain is normal and due to swelling. Also said there's not much to be done about it. But I've read watching your sodium intake helps. She also said it will be worse with warmer weather, so soon as the temperatures drop, swelling will go down. Just be sure to take your rings off before they get stuck on ;).
Magda: I did read where excessive swelling is an issue and should be brought to dr's attention. Oh and the soles of my feet hurt everyday! And have been for weeks now. Some days are better than others. Again, I think it has to do with swelling. Apparently I eat more salt than I realize some days. Oh how nice it will be when my body goes back to normal!
I remember reading that swelling is something you should report to your doctor. But that said, it isn't necessarily anything at all as due to all the hormones etc, yes, we can and do swell up and ligaments loosen and all sorts. Something I didn't think about is that although my hands are fine, the soles of my feet feel very sore in the morning! And I have serious issues with my hips, apparently due to loosening ligaments.
When do you see your dr Michelle??
i will definitely let you know what i find out!
Let me know what the doctor says! I don't have another appointment for two weeks and I would love to know if this is something else to worry about! Hope you're having a good week!
That's interesting. I had no idea it could cause carpel tunnel! Thanks for your reply. I was beginning to feel alone on this issue! I'm going to ask my dr about it next week too.
I definitely have the achy fingers and wrists! (and feet too if they swell up) I've read that swelling does cause extra pressure on the joints and in fact, can cause carpel tunnel syndrome during the pregnancy. Who knew!? It does tend to come and go for me; it just depends on what I've been doing that day as to how bad it gets. Hope you're doing better!
