Pressure

I'm 35 weeks and am having a lot of pelvic pressure. I know it's normal for the babies head to drop and start to feel pressure.. but I feel like it's too soon! Is (or has) anyone else experiencing this? I wouldn't be as concerned except my husband isn't due home from Afghanistan for the babies birth until Nov 3. I need him to stay put until his daddy gets here!!

Well, after my appointment today and after the menstrual like cramping feeling and pressure I've been feeling it turns out it may just be braxton hicks contractions.  My cervix has not dilated and may have softened a bit.  Baby's head is down she said she could feel it, so this may be causing the pressure a bit.

I saw my dr today. She said the babies head is low causing the pressure. No dilation but my cervix is soft. Induction date set to Nov 5 :)

I did some googling and it looks like we're experiencing the baby dropping and putting pressure on stretching ligaments supporting the uterus.

I checked out multiple sites and it seemed like the same general consensus.

You described what I feel to the T. I have an appointment tuesday so I'm going to ask my dr then. It just feels too uncomfortable to be normal... if that makes sense.

Hi Shellio,

I've been experiencing this also, especially when I get up to walk around there is a lot of pressure which makes walking not so comfortable.  I am 33 weeks and 3 days.  I've also been feeling lower abdominal menstrual like cramps.  I had this today for a few hours today and a few days ago, now they're gone away.  I'm not sure if this is the start of labour for me or just round ligament pain?  I've had the round ligament and it feels a bit different this time!
