What's everyone eating these days?

1st
Hi everyone!  I am having a hard time with what to eat, as a lot of things just give me gag-reflext.  I am finding myself subsiding on bagels and cream cheese, potatoes with sour cream and butter, pasta with marinara, and Carnation Instant Breakfast!  Is this just horrible?  Anyone have anything they're eating that's a little more nutritional that I might be able to keep down?  The Carnation idea came to me after reading some pregnant food suggestions, for those very nauseous people.  Also, do you think there are too many vitamins in Carnation, on top of the prenatal supplements I'm taking?  I was going to call to ask my OB that, because it's one of the few foods that seems to really taste good to me and not make me nauseous!

I wish I could manage to eat that healthy right now, but I just can't seem to stomach a lot of the foods that are supposed to be so good for you!  Well, I'll make up for it in the second trimester I guess!  Thanks for responding!

I am too early for nausea and aversions...and if it stays away all together I'll be a happy camper!!!  LOL!  I have been eating salad, whole grain crackers, pasta, grilled chicken,  oatmeal, bananas, apples, and grilled cheese mostly.  I gained 50 pounds with my daughter and I'm determined NOT to let that happen again!!!  :)  I am actually doing a modified version of weight watchers...I know it's "taboo" to diet when you're pregnant but for me, WW is just a lifestyle change that keeps me in check and holds me accountable for wanting to pig out all the time.  I make much healthier choices when I'm on the program and eat better portions.  I have already added in extra points each day and if I find at ANY point that I'm losing weight...I'll definitely modify and eat more.  I just want to gain what is necessary and be healthy while I'm at it.  It's worth a shot anyway...ask me how it's going in several weeks and I will have probably given up and started pigging out again.  :)

Thanks for responding!  I actually kind of forgot about pickles!  Truthfully, I can't seem to stomach ANY meat or eggs at all.  I too have been drinking the Izzys (don't know if I spelled that right!)  Milk shakes are a big weakness right now!  I just am afraid about getting enough nutrients!  I also can't seem to really do cereal.  Apples is a great idea and so are the yogurt and granola!  Thanks again.  Any other suggestions about what people are able to keep down, especially healthy foods, would be great!  I find I'm also becoming really addicted to Jamba Juice peanut butter moo shakes!

i hear ya! i feel like i'm not eating too healthy because i need to get down what i can!  i'm with rocky- pickles have been a savior ha!   but they don't have many calories.. meat is hard to eat for me, and dry breads as well. i have been sticking to granola with yogurt in the morning (cereal makes me loose it everytime!) a lot of soups, and try to choke down protein - chicken at least once or twice a day.. almonds aren't bad either..  but one of the best things i've discovered are IZZIE drinks (not sure if the E goes on the end or not of that spelling) but they are all natural fizzy drinks and i drink one of those and it really settles my stomach, its a huge help!!! i get them at central market, whole foods etc... then when i'm starved and cant' stomach much i get bad and go for the ice cream or milkshake, i get afriad of not consuming enough calories in a day sometimes.. but i'm so exicted to be nauseated! I love any and every symptom yeaa! : )

I'm not really that nauseous, but sometimes after I eat I do feel a bit queasy.  Do apples make you nauseous?  I've found that apples, apple juice, cheddar cheese (not melted), salty hard-boiled eggs, pistachios, and pickles are the best at keeping my stomach more basic and less acidic.  At night, I'm eating a lot of grilled foods (like chicken, steak and pork).  The char-grilled flavor settles the stomach as well (at least for me).
