measuring small

Hey ladies so the dr. I have been seeing in Ontario isn't the greatest and leaves me with soo many questions unanswered.
ok so she was measuring my belly saying its measuring small that I'm only 19cm (I think its in cm) she said I should be at 22 because I'm 22 weeks. soo I asked her if its ok and why my placenta is measuring small but she said that my u/s picture shows the baby at 20 weeks (I was 20 weeks when I had it done)
so heres the thing, what does it means? why is my belly measuring small does that mean my due date will be pushed back? could it cause harm to the baby?  Should I be afraid or worried?

Don't worry about the size, you still pretty early month, you will see the a huge difference one day to another, i had twins on my first pregnancy and by belly show off at 6 months, that was from night to following day... Just go with the flow.. and congrats...

when they measure your belly right now its totally nornal to measure off of what you "should" measure.. the belly measurement really really varies! the baby can be laying sideways (transverse) which can affect it.. if your pelvis is more concave or bigger th baby can sit down in it more, or if your tall or thin or short etc.. it will be different, I am tall with a "deep" pelvis so even though my ultrasound shows baby measuring a little ahead, my atual belly measures a little small.. she said this can be good, means a bigger more concave pelvis for birthing! : ) : )     SO not sure why someone would say Oh dear unless they are just inexperienced!    As far as movements go, i'm there with you, some days i feel her constantly others i don't (usuall if i'm tired she moves less!!!!) but thats totally n ormal until about week 28 or so they say.. then it should be more consistent! i have asked my dr all these questions!!  oh yea i do the doppler too! haha, but not much longer and well al be able to feel our little ones consistently! : )

Hi theere, I can understand how you feel about not being able to feel her move..and that every little thing is the biggest....I'm 20 wks and don't feel much movement either...but the best thing my husband and I did was to rent a DOPPLER... this way whenever I am worried  (everyday) we can listen to the hb.  My husband is usually pretty good as he finds it within seconds..this way we have peace of mind everyday as we hear the little one's hb and feel rest assured that things are alright for the time being.

I left you a comment on your journal/tracker as well, but I think the u/s is the important measurement.  See comments on left on journal....

well she isn't the greatest dr. and she would keep going back measuring my belly checking the charts and saying oh dear oh dear and I'm sitting there thinking WHAT WHAT WHATS OH DEAR. the thing is I'm 6 months next week and I haven't felt her move the last couple of days so its hard to be completely confident expecially lol with her saying oh dear a million times. I have no idea whats normal and whats not cause this is my first. so the littlest thing is the biggest deal

I just had my 20 week ultrasound and they did so many measurements, I would think it would be more accurate than measuring the fundus. If they said baby was on track according to the u/s measuring I would feel confident that the baby was growing ok. Maybe your Dr. wasn't feeling the top of the uterus well and it seemed small? Maybe next week you'll grow like crazy and catch up. It should be up to your belly button at least I would think. Did your Dr. seem overly concerned?? Try not to worry.
