going into labor?

So I have been haveing contractions for the past 2 hrs every 3 minutes. ...but my doc said to stay home untill I can't handle the pain anymore...is this normal? When did everyone else go? Oh and I will be 40 weeks Friday. ...

Mmm... idk about that.  Apparently when you're in labor,  your contractions are 5 minutes apart,  lasting 60 seconds each and you have trouble speaking. .. idk, I'm a ftm waiting to be induced on Friday.

Yeah I talked to the doctor at 4 and she said because I could talk to her on the phone fine I should stay home unless I wanted her to check me and send me home....confused and in pain

Whaaat? U might end up having the baby at your house! You're supposed to head to the hospital when you have regular contractions every 5 minutes!!! I would go to the hospital just to be safe, if they think you're not ready,  they will send u back home.

I don't know this is my first baby.....I'm a newcomer to all this pregnancy stuff :)

Do you want to lay in a hospital or at home? Myself would rather be home until I couldn't take it anymore then go. But I guess it would be up to you go to the hospital if that's what will give you one less thing to think about
