Induced Birthing Story

Arrived at the hospital at 5:00am Nov 30th. Had a rough morning because I was feeling so nauseous before I got to the hospital and unfortunately had horrible diarrhea. I got signed in and everything and started getting my penicillin by 6:30am (for Group B Strep) and was already having contractions on my own before the pitocin. Started getting a very small dose of Pitocin at 7am, I was 2cm and 80% effaced at this time. Shortly after 7Am I ended up being on the toilet for awhile due to throwing up and having the runs (TMI sorry) but started having stronger contractions and alot of back labor at this time I wasn't on the pitocin because I was in the bathroom. I was in so much pain the nurse asked if I'd like my epidural, so I got one before the pain got too unbearable so I got that by 8:15am. It went in smoothly and was just a little pinch nothing to painful at all. By 9:15am when I was checked again I was 6cm and by 9:40am I was 10cm and 100% effaced. I was having regular contractions since the morning so they kept the pitocin very low because I was already going into labor on my own naturally which made me so Happy. I started pushing around 11am or so because they wanted the baby to drop down a little more and she was having some issues with her heart rate lowering everytime I'd have a contraction and my midwife was in a C-section so I just let her slide down naturally. I pushed for like 20-30mins and by 11:30 am my little princess was finally here. She is 7lbs and 22inches long and was 40w6d when I delivered. She's so perfect and I am in love. And she was born 11/30 @ 11:30am haha how cute. (Sorry for the long story but want to remember this forever)

Congrats!! You're so lucky you had a great experience with pitocin! I was in so much pain and the epidural wore off during the worst part of my contractions. It was horrible!!
