Questions

Hello Mommies! I'm wondering did any of your doctor's tell you the weight of your baby anytime in the third trimester. I was told by a friend I should have had another ultrasound to check the baby's growth but I have yet to get one or have I been told the weight or if she is head down or not.

I'm in the same boat, my doctor hasn't mentioned any of the above to me.

My doctor told me that they won't do one unless the baby's size is looking to be concerning. I asked her if she could give an estimate on how big he will be and she said he is looking to be normal size when he's born at this point. And that as you get more like 4-5 weeks away that's when the doctors can really tell if they need to do another ultrasound. But who knows, every doctor is different.

I got a measurement at 25 and 30 weeks because I was getting extra ultrasound due to partial placenta previa. If it wasn't for that, I wouldn't have had an ultrasound after my 20 week anatomy scan.

I think that because the measurement with the tape measures how high your uterus has grown and with the ultrasound they measure baby's weight. I hope everything is okay!

I got a ultrasound at 30 weeks and only bc I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and at that time I was told my baby weight 3 lbs 7 oz and than at 33 weeks I got sent to the specialist bc I told them I smoked weed in the beginning  of my pregnancy and they freaked out and at that time I was told my baby weight 4 lbs 7 oz and also that my baby was still measuring 30 weeks so now I gotta go back to the specialist in a few weeks, I'm so confuse bc when they measure me with the tape I measure a week or two ahead so I'm wondering how do the ultrasound and fundamental measurement doesn't match ?? Now I'm thinkin so if I would of not got a ultrasound I would of never known my baby was measuring smaller ?? Idk it doesn't make sense to me

Maybe it's just different practices for different doctor's. I wish they would do an ultrasound though, the only thing they do is measure my belly with the tape also and tell me my baby is gonna be big but I don't see how he can tell that from just looking at my belly . I'm definitely going to ask him about this at my 38 week appointment.

My Dr doesn't schedule any ultrasounds after the anatomy scan at 20 weeks unless there's a problem. They just measure my uterus size via tape measure at every appointment and keep track of his growth that way till he's born.
