Yes. This happened to me just 5 days ago on my official 40th week (obvious I'm overdue 5 days now). But I went in because I felt the contractions were around 5 minutes/less apart. They just were not excruciating pains of contractions. While there, the nurse told me I wasn't dilated enough yet and that I should try to take a walk around the hospital for an hour. By then they will decide whether or not to keep me. So I walked the hour and came back, and my contractions were getting closer together in the process. I was told I thinned out by 50% from when she first checked my cervix. She said I'm on the right track but my dilation wasn't opening yet--maybe just a tip of the finger, but not 1cm yet even. So, yes, I got sent home, and 5 days later here I am still not much changed. I'm getting induced by Monday. Sigh...
That is so dumb! I know you have to meet the bishop's score but I work in a hospital, 37 weeks is full term from everything I have ever read or been told.
Yes. I've had days of regular painful contractions several times but because I wasn't making cervical change they won't do anything. And because I'm only 37 weeks they won't give me anything to help speed things up because 39 weeks is considered full term now
Yep happened to me last week! I was having contractions 2 minutes apart for over an hour so I went in to be checked and I was 2.5 cm. They left me on the monitor and checked me again an hour later and I hadn't progressed so they sent me home. Turns out it was false labor and after another 2 hours the contractions just stopped. Now the last 2 days I've been having contractions like crazy but nothing consistent enough to go back. Its so frustrating!
