Hospital tour

So had my hospital tour last weekend. A bit nervous about a few things.
1. After the baby is born, he/she will stay by your bed all the time (except for when any medical tests are done). They have a baby bassinet by mother's bed. I guess its a good thing for most parents. However, Im a ftm. I just gonna be me and my husband, my mom prob wont be able to come. So Im very nervous about that.. Like its getting too real and Im not aure how ready I am for the baby. I know when y sister-in-law gave birth, they just brought the baby to her for feedings or whenever she asked for him.
2. Most of their post-pardom rooms are shared (for 2 people). They say there is a high chance that I ll have a room all to myself but you just never know. I feel a bit weird about sharing a rokm with someone, esp. me being so clueless to what to do with the baby. Im a bit shy already too. Another thing if I share the room, my husband cant spend the night with me. And Id feel way more comfortable having him around.

Did any of you  have similar experiences as ftm? Me and my husband are both not from US, our families live oversees so dont really have anyone who can guide me. Im just hoping I ll figure it all out on my own or nurses will be kind enough to help..

Thanks, ladies!!
I know I'm prob just freaking out.. Hopefully, it will all come naturally. I've just never really been a baby person. But when its your child, I know its different.
But Im responsible and smart, so gotta believe in myself!! Lol. Everything's gonna be ok.

Don't worry so much!  It will all come to you naturally. It's natural instincts to take care of your baby. It's just a baby, not very complex.  They eat poo and sleep. Just remember their first poo looks black like tar. That freaked me out but perfectly normal.

With your being so nervous about baby, it will probably be a good thing to have him/her with you in the room! It will give you time to learn about him/her and how to care for the baby with doctors and nurses around! After the 2ish days, you'll be going home and the nurses won't be there to help! It sounds like it will be more beneficial for you to have the baby there with supports so you can become more comfortable before you go home.
