Placenta position and grade

Hi guys, I am in my 19th week and I had my 2nd level scan, it says the placenta is posteriorly located and is in upper segment. The maturity grade of placenta is 1. Can someone explain this to me! Is everything normal?

It means a small part of your placenta is very near to the cervical area. Since it is grade 1 you don't have to worry for now. You should avoid bending down and doing such chores at home or workplace. Take care while using washroom. In any case bleeding should not occur. Mostly the placenta will change its position by eighth month or so. And things will go normal.
Take care :)
