I am off work hopefully until the baby is six weeks old. I was taken off work the end of July because I was h aving difficulty performing my duties and I was physically uncomfortable  and sick. Fortunately I receive disability through my employer at 66 2/3 percent of my 40 hour a week wage. Of course I pay for my medical insurance through work now out of my  pocket but at least I know I have a better chance of carrying the baby to term and am able to rest when I need to, eat, drink, go to the bathroom, everything as my body demands it. I work in a hot factory so with the hot temps and long hours of late I am so glad I am not there.

Talk to you doctor and if you can afford it I say do what you feel is right for you. I had this same problem thinking I was being a "baby" but was quickly convinced that how one handles their pregnancy will be completely diffferent than  how the other does. I  have had three other pregnancys and this time I am much older and not handling it as well. I feel better knowing that the physical and mental stress of work is off of me for a couple more months is quite relieving.

You will make the right decision based on your needs.

Good Luck!

I plan on working til my due date.  I am taking off until after Christmas and New Years and because I am part time I do not have benefits so my time off will be unpaid unfortunately......but the bright side is my husband is a bank manager and gets to take 8 weeks off with me and gets 100% pay and he has been paying ahead on our major bills like our car payment and house payment so we won't have to worry about  living on 1 income.....which we better get used to b/c I plan on working less hours after the baby comes!!!

As long as possible! I just came off of a 6wk bedrest for not gaining weight(sounds like punishment doesn't it? ) I went back to work last Friday and it was ucky then Saturday when I got back to the "grind" aka my USUAL duties I was much happier. I work for Citibank and had oodles of emails to read and change training for updates in banking before I could take care of customers( I do loans, balance transfers, lines of credit etc) BUT once I was taking care of customers again I was much less stressed than I had been at home! I think I am happier being able to take care of customers, be helpful and nurture the nurturing mama inside me that I have become! It just made me so happy to be able to approve someone for a loan , good rate and all and really help them out.. I;m such a mom-type....

i'm planning on working up until the delivery - but i actually hope he's on time or even late because the longer i can work, the less time i'll have to take off without pay.

i'm staying out until the first of the year, no matter what, but i only have 5 weeks of saved up time to get paid for, so anything after that will be unpaid.

As of today I started working from home to avoid the commute, but I'm hoping that this way I'll be able to work till I deliver.  My doctor as asked me to take it easy to reduce the risk of early labor expecially with twins, so working from home definitelly will help.

I am working until my scheduled C section date at 39 weeks. I also worked with my first until he was born. I want to save every minute of my leave to have with the baby once he's here.
