Elijah Luke is here!

Born 10/7 via c-section, he is absolutely perfect!  After a scary pregnancy, God really came through and he doesn't have anything wrong with him at all, not even as much as a birthmark.

I will say that section recovery is very hard, especially the first week, and mostly the first couple days when you've got wires and tubes stuck in uncomfortable places.  And the breastfeeding, for me, has been extremely draining and painful.  And the sleep deprivation is hard on a marriage and the already fragile post-partum mental state.

However, there's nothing that compares to the moments of pure elation your perfect angel brings.  Or is that the Percocet I feel?:)

I am sure the percocet helps lol!!!  Hang in there.  Just a hint on what my nites are like, I am breastfeeding and I have her basinet next to the bed filled with diapers, wipes, desitin, extra outfit, breastpump stuff just incase I get engorged, and when she starts moving around I lay her in bed with me lying against me on her side and I nurse her that way so I dont even have to get up out of bed!!!  Give the breastfeeding a little more time and I am sure you will enjoy it but if it isn't for you then I would not stress out about it.  You have got to do what works for you, your family, and most of all your mental health!!  Good luck.

He was 7 lbs, 6 oz and 21 inches long.  So that's 50th percentile in weight and 95th in height.  In other words, he's tall and skinny like his daddy!  After three kids, I STILL don't have one that takes after ME!  How is that even right?:)

I posted a blog at www.beckythorn.spaces.live.com if anyone feels like reading more!  Thanks for asking!
