Beached Whalitis.......

I am 28wks going on 29... and I feel like a beached whale. I had gained 20lbs and for some reason likely doctor stress have lost back down to 17lbs.. healthy huh? I constantly feel so full I cannot eat, It is uncomfortable to do almost anything. Even my maternity pants are too tight to bear. Sometimes it seems it could be gas but passing it does not help for long... I am a first time mom, any suggestions?

has anyone else had really morbid feelings. I am in so much pain with my hips and back I have been searching ways to end the pregnanacy in the 7th month. I am severely depressed and I know this. I am SO overwhelmed and so not want to be a mother. I realized watching the father with his other 2 he is an incompitant whiney boob and I really and truely do not like children. Please help.

I think all pregnant women go through this.  It's like just another way to torture us (like pushing a baby out or having surgery isn't enough), we get to go through the joys of the first trimester which are sometimes just too horriable to mention and then we get all fat and bloted, then we get even bigger, then we get to push out a huge baby out of a hole which just shouldn't be able to get that big.  Let's all be honest here and face it... pregnancy *****!!!  Unfortunately it's the only way to have a child so we just have to get through it to get to the grand prize where we get to hold that tiny little miracle.  And the scariest part is that then is when the real work begins, we then have to raise these little people and help them become happy, healthy, and well adjusted.  A daunting task but I'm sure we are all up to it =D.  Don't feel bad, you are not alone... we all (as far as I know) feel the same way.  As for the pants... have you tried the secret fit pants or jeans?  You can get them at the Motherhood store or online.  They are the only pants that I can wear and be comphy.  The other option is dresses (not my favorite choice but they don't make you feel all constricted on your belly) and for shoes, I usually stick to cheap flip flops because my feet swell sometimes and I don't want to stretch out any of my good shoes, plus they aren't hot.  Good luck and let us know if you find anything else that is comphy to wear because I for one would love some more options :)

I am due Oct 11 and I know how you feel. I have gained 30 pounds and my baby also measured "big" at my last appointment and the doctor was going to change my due date but realized that I have been seeing him since I missed my period (which I never  miss unless I am pregnant). They immediately checked my sugar thinking I was possibly diabetic but it was actually low because I was very hungry that day. I go next week for my sugar test which I am not worried about at all.
The one thing is really starting to s*ck is I'm  having a hard time breathing from the baby being right up in my ribs. I usually have to reach my arms up over my head when sitting or just get up and pull my belly out of my chest. Its like shes stopped growing "out" and decided to take over my skeleten instead. I sleep for **** too.

Sometimes I feel like all I do is complain about my pregnancy lately because of being so uncomfortable. I figure its only going to get worse. I told my fiance today that I can't wait for October so she is born. He said she probably can't wait either. I told him Naw, shes perfectly happy right where shes at and not in any hurry to show her little face.

I mark alot of my complaints on being so much older this time than I was with my other children. Not everyone has these issues being an older Mom but I dont think I will be doing this again. I say this is like rollarcoaster rides.......best left for the younger ones. lol

Well if it makes you feel any better I have gained 9lbs in 5 week!  I really feel like a whale when my 2 year old son is running from me.  I got laughed at the other day while chasing him in the front yard!!  Also my boobs sit on my belly now which is most uncomfortable lol!!  So no, you are not the only one who feels like a whale.  I have finally reached a 20lb wt gain as of today.  And welcome to the forum!!  The joys of pregnancy....!!

I hear ya, in the last 7 days I've gained 5 pounds. I'm now up 21lbs.  I haven't changed too much and actually started walking. I'm 25 weeks tomorrow but I was already measuring 2 weeks ahead at my last appointment.  I was soooo hoping to stay under the 200lbs mark, but I'm thinking at this rate I will be lucky to stay under the 210lbs mark.  My first son was born at 205lbs, my second at 208lbs.  and now this girl is going to be hm...

As for the tight pants and shorts StacyCPHT, being a pro at this (3rd child) I've learned that summer dresses are great!  I hate dresses, I'm a jean and t-shirt girl, but at least they don't dig into your belly. I bought 3 this year.  Now if I could find nice shoes that are dressy enough that don't hurt my swelling feet!

Take care
