stress test

What reason would a doctor have to request a stress test on a pregnant woman on her due date, when she has no other pregnancy related (or any other) problems?  She was just in for a scheduled appointment, and the doctor requested a stress test.

Not really sure.  Were you having contractions or did the baby stop moving as much??

No.  Nothing going on any different than it has been.  I may have possibly misunderstood.  Maybe it's a stress test on the baby.  But still - there are no problems.  I can't understand what the need would be for any of that.

My doctor has ordered a non stress test for me if I go over my due date. I think they just want to make sure that the baby is doing well because the placenta starts to age at the end of pregnancy so they monitor the baby's heart rate for a bit to make sure the baby is getting enough nutrients and oxygen, I think it's routine.

Hope this helps
