Medications While Preggo

Anyone else taking meds while pregnant, such as Metformin (Glucophage) or Prometrium (progesterone)?! When were you told you could stop?

I'll be running out of Metformin in a few days (I'll be over 11 weeks so not worried about it) and I was going to take the Prometrium up until week 12 (April 7th) but not sure if I should. Should I stop now? I don't want to stop and then miscarry because I didn't hold out another week.

Thanks wantbaby14! I'll definitely ask. I'm sick of the side effects. I am just nervous to stop in case something were to happen.

Hi Joy,

I was on progesterone until this weekend. I saw my doctor two weeks ago and according to him I could gradually stop with the progesterone. Its effect is to help you body to keep the pregnancy in early weeks. According to him there was no point of taking it after 10 weeks. I am now 10w6d and I stopped.

I think you can stop but I'm not a doctor so I really believe you should ask yours before taking this decision.

take care
