UPDATE on U/S today and a question....

I went for my first ultrasound today and it was so amazing!!! My lil bugger was moving like crazy, arms waving everywhere, moving his/her head, stretching out those legs, it was tooooooo cute! Thankfully my bladder wasn't too full, so I was able to enjoy the experience. lol. I thought the tech's aren't suppose to say much, but this lady was really nice and told me the baby looked very healthy and the placenta looks great. Also, the heart rate is 150, and because the baby was so active, I assume that was at a high point, and if that's the case, my guess is it's a boy...but ya never know! =) They took some measurments and my midwife will call me with the results. s/he looked so perfect and I was so thankful to God that everything looked great.

Now...I went this morning thinking I was 11w 5d or somewhere right around there according to my LMP.
I am 13 weeks!!!!!! Holy cow....I had a feeling I was further along, but 13 weeks already?? I'm already in the 2nd trimester. Crazy!! But according to my last LMP, I shouldn't be anymore than11 or 12 weeks. I had it Jan. 2.....how in the world could I have gotten pregnant before my period? I mean my cycles are very regular and it was a very normal period. Do you think the baby is just big? and I did conceive in Jan? Or could I have conceived in Dec. and had was bleeding?
I'm really confused. But anyway, my new due date is Sept. 30 instead of Oct. 9.  WOW!!!

Either way, I am so excited! My b-day is on Sept. 21 so I should be having the baby sometime around there probably! =)

Also, I have decided to stick around here on the Oct. forum...but I will drop in on the sept. forum to say hi...lol, but I have gotten to know you ladies and don't want to leave here! =)

Yea, I did have this feeling last time, although my husband was convinced I was having a girl and started to convince me, but I knew all along! lol. So hopefully I will be right this time. =)  Yea, either I had a weird cycle or baby is just big! I am going with big baby as my son was a big boy at 2 weeks early, but he always measured right on time for the most part. I am 5'8" and my hubby is 6'1" so I know we make big babies...lol. I was 9lbs 4oz at birth, so I guess they just take after mama! ;)

oh I wanted to tell you that with my other pregnancy I bled rather heavy for 4 days.  thought it was my period.  If i didnt have an extra $ store test and couldnt resist taking it, I would have never known I was pregnant.  I only took it because my "period" was one day short and for an hour here and there over the 4 days i would completely stop bleeding.

I'm glad your still staying with us! That is pretty strange but in a good way. I'm glad your baby looked great!!! I might just be a big baby though. Who knows, but the important thing is that your doing well and so is your baby. Keep us posted on further news. Best of luck-Kelly

Congrats. It's so reassuring to see your baby on scan and even better to be told you're further than you thought. I've heard stories of people who ovulated right after af, maybe that's what happened in your case.

Here's to a happy and eventfree 27 weeks.

Yea Joy, I just can't leave!! But I will peek over in the sept forum! =) The more I think about it, I have never experienced implantation bleeding and my period was it's normal heavy flow for 2 days and light the last 2-3 days. I think it's so weird, but I honestly just think I have a big baby! lol. Jeremiah was 2 weeks early, so it's very possible. But with my u/s with him at 8wks, it was right on time and right where I thought it should be. My mind goes crazy thinking about it. lol.

sphillips....I know...isn't that funny how you think your so far along, and then bam...you further than you thought? It's strange but great at the same time. When I count back on when I could have possibly conceived at this point, I keep ending up in the week I had my period. (I googled it) I mean that has never happened before, but there is always a first for everything. But I am going with a big baby at this point. we'll see!! =) Either way, I am happy to have a healthy pregnancy and baby thus far. Thanks so much!

The same happened to me. I went in for what I thought was an 8 weeks u/s. I found out I was 11w 2d! I had a TOTALLY normal period on Jan 1 and what I thought was implantation bleeding on Jan 23rd. I was totally shocked. But when I counted back from the u/s it was obvious what day I had conceived...in Dec! Now I'm 15w 3d and I'm feeling great! The doc said some early bleeding is sometimes caused by our still fluctuating hormones in early pregnancy and that its somewhat common. You might have just ovulated late in Dec....
Well, I'm glad all is well with your little one and congrats on being out of the 1st trimester!

Oh well I'm glad you're not leaving us!

Maybe what you thought was your period was implantation bleeding? That's the only thing I could think of that would make your dates off by that much. Or it could be that baby is big! My 2nd daughter was a big one. We pushed her due date earlier because she was so big and she could've probably come even two weeks before that and been fine!
