Everyname I suggest to my husband he doesn't really like or hates! so I am sure what we will end up with .........we need to get on the case esp as we don't know what were having so need to have a short list for both boy and girl.
My favourite at the moment for boy is dexter, ned (edward) james and for a girl I like sarah, alena, and abigail is nice too.
when choosing names i went through name book and wrote all i liked down then i halved it. then showed husband and he crossed most off. but at least we agreed on a few, then just had to decide.
we both liked Jake Thornton and chose Ellis as a middle name so his initials would be JET. we would never have used ellis as a 1st name but it seems to flow.
this time i chose Ella Blue Thornton which husband likes so no arguing, and i think they go together Jake and Ella. You need to imagine shouting their names in a park.
My husbands name is William and so we are using that as the babys first name and using a new middle name...maybe that is comprimise he would be willing to make?? Good luck!!!
thanks for all your ideas. the name i like is Koen Andrew, i thought koen was different and andrew was my fathers name. patrick still really wants patrick harley, which i like the name but i do not want him to be a junior! well still plugging away.
And P.S. I gave DH a list of names I liked from our baby book and told him to choose some from the list that he liked (for baby's middle name). The list I gave him was a big one so he had plenty of choices! You could try the same.
Or have him login to babynames.com and compile his own list of baby names he likes.
I don't like junior names personally. But I do love namesakes, or taking a name and making it your own. For example my daughter Abigail's middle name is Lynn. Her Nonna's name is Lindee. So instead of naming her Abigail Lindee we chose Abigail Lynn. That's the only compromise I can think of- to develop your own name within a name.
But don't settle on a name if you don't like it. They'll carry this name around for their lifetime. Pick something meaningful!
Good luck on that. I picked out one or two with our son and my mom nor my then boyfriend now husband liked them. He wanted a Kyle Jr. and I said no so him and my mother picked out Blake Anthony. I didnt like Blake but I was outnumbered. He actually agreed and said he liked Beau. Thank Goodness. However he is dead set on the middle name being Isaac and I do NOT like that name. Think I will go ahead and give him that though since I wont have to hear it all the time. Good Luck on the names. Oh by the way, now that I look back, I should have named Blake, Kyle Anthony Jr. Cause he is just like his daddy.
hmmm thats a tough one.... haven't had that happend to me. But when my hubby doesn't like the names I pick I usually tell him to help me think of some names he likes and I think of other names till we both agree. Good luck on that.
