You know...I mentioned a kick count to my doc a couple weeks ago and he looked at me as if I was crazy. He's an @ss anyway but ya...I was a little peeved. Maybe my midwife will have more input on it!
I think I'll probably be with sameerab....by the end you know how your baby moves and would probably notice a lot less activity.

Thanks!  I like this one better than the one my dr gave me.  It's easy to see a visual of any deviations from what's "normal" for my baby.

I have to admit when iwas preggo with my daughter I did that for the first couple of weeks and then I didn't really do it anymore just as long as I felt her move

At my last prenatal appointment I was 21 weeks and asked the Dr when I should start this, he said to wait until my next prenatal appointment which will put me at 25 weeks, so I would say from 25 weeks on you should start keeping track =0)

I'm not sure when they suggest, but I've always been told that when you start feeling the movements/kicks to just pay attention to how much and when.  I never actually counted how many kicks, but after a few weeks I get an idea of when the baby's normally more active and try to just pay attention more.  I'll be 21 weeks with my second and I've already started paying closer attention, I don't feel "all" the kicks yet, but I've feeling a lot.

I'd say if you want to count, first figure out when would work best for you and baby.  Try paying attention this week to when the baby's moving around more and just start trying to see if you can count a little now, it'll get you in the habit early and help you pay more attention overall to the baby's movements.

You usually start the kick count arounf 26 weeks. I love these kinds of charts! I printed one off of the internet last time I was pregnant and would keep track while I was at work since it gave me something to do! :)

Ooh...this is great. Thanks for posting all this stuff!! When do most people have to start kick counts? About 28 weeks or so? I have an anterior placenta so I'm not sure when I'll be feeling big kicks yet....I only feel flutters but even then it's difficult to feel anything at all.
