C-Section worries

I've had 2 previous C-sections, through no choice of my own.... never progressed. With the 1st, it was a blessing bc of the cord being wrapped around her neck and she probably wouldn't have made it. With the 2nd was 2 weeks late and induced... nothing... then brought back in at 3 weeks and taken via C-section.

My worry now is that the doctor (PCP) told me that I would require a 3rd c-section and that, even if I went into natural labor (which I doubt will happen), they would section me. I don't mind the c-section, but the recovery time stinks! Has anyone else had a VBAC (should read VBA2C - LOL)?

Also, I was told that they use glue on some c-sections instead of a long stitch (greatest thing ever) or even staples (never had these). Has anyone heard of this or had experience with it. It's been over 10 years since I had my son and I'm amazed at how much has changed!!

There is only 1 birthing hospital in this area (rural). The others are all over 1 hour away from my home... and I doubt that my doctors practice at either of them. I really would like to stay at the one close to home because of my kids and wanting to make it easy on DH and them.

I still wonder about that glue thing. I'll be asking at my appointment on the 17th. (so excited and hoping for an US!!)

I'm sorry about all the c-sections. I haven't been through the whole birthing process yet, but i hope I dont have to do a c-section, unless it can't be avoided. Like with your daughter. But otherwise, it would be nice to be able to do the whole birthing process on your own. Is there any other hospitals nearby, where you can get a second opinion? I have a friend, who had a c-section for her first, because of being so far dilated before realizing she was in labor. The OB she went to this time around, let her have a natural birth this time, and she didn't have any problems. Hope you are able to get what you want.

I would try getting an opinion from another doctor. I had a c-section with my first son and refuse to get another (unless it is IMPOSSIBLE to avoid). I have spoken to a midwife who said she has done several home births with women who have had c-sections in the past and has never had any problems. She is a firm believer in letter the body do what it was made to do. The best thing is, is just to ask. A lot of doctors use the risk factor as an excuse to get out of a VBAC. I was told by a nurse that they just don't like to do VBACs because they have to sit in the hospital from the very start to the very end. That sometimes takes longer than they would like. I will do a home birth if my OB refuses to sit with me.

Well from what I have read there is no way that most doctors will even let you think about doing a VBAC after 2 csections due to the possibility of your uterus rupturing. I have never had a c-section (came really close the first time though because my water broke at home and I wasn't progressing) but I have read a lot about childbirth and all of the options. I am sorry that you have had to go through one c-section let alone 2 but it will probably be best for you if you do another c-section. Since it has been 10 years since your last one... is it possible that that your scar has healed well enough for them to give you the option?
