I think that Alaysha had a good point about it being a hazard but I think it's so cute when a little baby girl has pierced ears. Not sure when I would do it myself if I had a baby girl. It would be a toss up....I always ask my husband for his opinion. He's good at helping me decide things like that.
My mom waited until I asked about it myself. I was 6. It hurt so bad that I wouldn't let the lady pierce my other ear! LOL I think my mom took me back the next week to get the other one done!
I want to get my little girls ears pierced but DH and I decided to wait for her to be old enough to decide and do most of the taking care of.
I got my oldest daughter's ears pierced at 4 months based on the doctor's suggestion. My husband asked me last night when I was going to get Peri's done and I think I'll wait until she's 4 months too, I think right after she got those shots. Not sure where I want to get it done this time because the drs ofc did it for my oldest. A little nervous about the ppl in the mall doing it.
My daughter will be 8 weeks this tuesday (where did he time go) I want to get them pierced before taking her to get her christmas pictures done..
@ Vani- I know Im going to cry :[
I already pierced my daughter's ears when she was 3 weeks. I made that decision because they won't remember the pain. They did have a harder time because her ears are really small but they look so cute. I was actually going to ask that question before I got them done, but I just decided to pierce them. I got my 5 year old daughter's ears pierced when she was just 3 days old. I'm sure if I left that choice to her she would not have earrings right now because she is so scared of needles. I guess it's just up to what you think is right for your baby, but let me tell you, I cried more than my baby did. I actually left her inside with my mom and I walked out to cry... hahaha!! It hurts us the mothers more than the babies.
I think it doesn't really matter either way. Personally though I'm going to wait until my daughters are at least 6 so that they can make the decision themselves. Something exciting to do for a birthday or whatever. The reasoning I have for not doing it when they are babies is because young children and more likely to pull on their ears and yank the earrings out which then posses both a medical hazard and a choking hazard. Not to mention they are more likely to be crooked. With that being said though, I think little girls look SOOOO cute with pierced ears.
