Here we go!

At the hospital now and about to start the induction process.  We never found out the gender so I'm extra super excited to meet our little one!  Cross your fingers for me that baby arrives on Monday (tomorrow) and not Tuesday or Wednesday.....

Congrats! Your last little bit of labor was like mine. My water broke at 510 am exactly, but I didn't start to push until around 2 pm and my girl was here at 220. And those contractions after your water breaks is the worst pain. Good thing you did the epidural too. I hope you are enjoying that little boy. Congrats again.

Whew!  4 hrs ago I delivered a healthy baby boy named William (Liam) David! At midnight, I was still 1cm with moderate contractions and they restarted pitocin. At 5am, my water broke on its own and I was 2.5cm at that point.  Contractions hit hard and after two doses of fentanyl, got an epidural at 8am.  8cm at 9am and ready to push at 10am!  40 mins of pushing and there he was!

I hope it's working for you now and your baby is either out or almost out. Give an update when you can. I know it's hard to update when your in labor though, just enjoy the first moment you meet your little one.

Pitocin was given through an iv for 5-6hrs. It caused moderate, regular contractions but the cervix stayed hard and basically closed.  They did one dose (of three) of the next softening medication and it caused the strongest contractions yet so they stopped that and now I'm back on pitocin with what I would call mod-strong contractions.  Hopefully this works!

I'm surprised pitocin didn't work for you! That put me into full blown labor in a few hours. How many tries did they do with the first medicine? I had mine 4 times and they gave me the tablet form, not the gel because it's a stronger dose in the tablet.

I was induced because I have a blood clotting disorder and pregnancy already puts you at higher risk of developing clots. I also have a history of kidney damage and for the past three weeks, my kidneys have started to show high stress and strain and we don't want to damage them any further.  I am 39w1d.

Pitocin didn't do is job either... :-(  They've turned it off, will let me have dinner, and then are going to try some other, stronger type of softening medication over night tonight. Disappointed.

Disappointed... The cervidil (sp?) didn't work. They want me to eat breakfast (a bad sign that they think this will be a long haul?) And then they'll give pitocin a few hours from now.  They said if that doesn't work, they'll try the cervidil again tonight.  :-(

Going well so far, but slow. Cervical softening meds went in about 8hrs ago. Annoying period like cramping started, but water hadn't broken yet. I did get about 4 hours of really good sleep and then snoozed for another hour or two. My hip has been bothering me so much these last two weeks and the hospital bed is terrible for it!  Wrong pressure in all the wrong spots.  So it's really too uncomfortable to get any more sleep at this point.  Within the next 3-4hrs they'll start the pitocin.  Can't wait for the epidural so this dam hip stops hurting!  Lol!
