36 week scan

So I've been looking forward to my 36 week sono since my last one at 20 weeks and now that I'm finally at 36 weeks the doctor will not give me another sono he says there is no need for it so the insurance will not cover it. Has anyone else ever experienced this?

Yes it is normal practice, most insurance only cover 2 scans. Because those r the only necessary the initial and the 20 weeks measuring scan. If u have no complications the insurance won't cover it. But if u have prior history of a complication they can use that to request it.

They will not be doing that for me they measure my uterus and based on my weight gain they say that the baby is healthy and although I'm not sure how they know the baby is head down they said that he is

Its standard routine for my Dr to do another ultrasound at that point. I haven't gained any weight since I was overweight to start with and I've had a great pregnancy. I know it's nice to be able to get another peak at baby before they get here.
