Baby shower

So, my family and friends are planning a baby shower fory husband and I. We found out that it is going to be a major party. There's about a hundred guests invited. The more interesting thing is that it is on a Friday night (6pm -midnight) and the guests include old and young, college friends, high school friends, church friends, men, women, parents colleagues, college professors, high school teachers...well you get the point. Hubby and I are slightly overwhelmed, but my biggest concerns 1) what kind of games do you think Will be appropriate for a group that large - suggestions are welcome 2) i'm not sure I will have the energy for such a large crowd. Everyone is doing their best to put this together, i'm just really hoping that there activities for 6hrs. Please share your thoughts.

Dont stress it girly especially since they are planning and doing it for you all you have to do is look pretty and greet when they come in. I am having my baby shower this weekend and I am also having 100 confirmed guest! We are playing 12 games that spell out my daughters name and also playing some games for the kids. My baby shower starts at 3pm at 5pm we are serving food and after everyone is done we play the games. These are the games we are playing:

Scramble with the babies name: the one with the most words wins
Pins in rice: bowl filled wit rice and small safety pins- who ever grabs the most wins
gift bingo: make a blank bingo card every guest gets one they can write in their gift in the free space than conitune filling in card with gifts they think the mom and dad will recieve. first one to get bingo wins!
musical chairs
guess mamas belly size

I have more but cant think of them right now. LOL good luck hope you have fun1

They should treat it like a cocktail party or I guess if the crowd is non-drinking they could set it up like an afternoon social, with tea and coffee and snacks.  Games just don't go, if there are 100 people, unless you want to try for "Monte Carlo Night" or something, and gifts can't be opened in such a crowd, it takes forever.  Think of a wedding reception and not a shower in someone's living room, and you'll do OK.  6 hours is too long, though.  People should be able to leave without feeling like a heel by about an hour and a half or two hours, unless they're having a ton of fun and have to dance one more dance.  lol

Wow that's huge! I just had my baby shoqer last weekend with 40 guests and it went for 3hrs... by the end of it I was exhausted and overwhelmed. I think with a guest list that big it might get a bit hard to keep everyone on track for games. The other thing is if it's a huge party with alcohol, you'll be left looking after guests instead of the other way round.
It's a wonderful thing that your family and friends are doing, but make sure you have majority input so it's the day you want. Good luck x
