I live in TX and haven't been notified of any drug tests. I know they check urine at every appt to make sure the right levels of proteins are present. (To make sure you and your baby well nourished and to make sure you aren't getting any infections). It's all routine.
I get test everytime, i think there just so many people doing drugs now that they test everyone
Coincidentally I went for a check up yesterday and instead of having me leave my pee in the bathroom like usual, the nurse brought it into the room and drug tested me. So here it seems that yes they do, but randomly.
I live in MN and i've never been drug tested at my appointments. I've had friends who have and their babies were tested at birth. I think they have to have probable cause to do so (a drug past or if you receive help from the government)
I pee every apt but its for protein test, so if you're having to give urine sample every apt not necessarily for drug tests, I believe they have to tell you if they are, I do think its good though it's a big problem here in wv, never seen anything like it, smh, my friends am ob nurse and she says she sees girls on heroin while pregnant here all the time. It's sad.
I hafta pee in a cup every time also but they've never told me why and I've never asked. It's totally possible it's for drugs
I live in Texas and yes they drug test (via urine sample) on every appointment. Even with our last pregnancy almost 4 years ago they drug tested every appointment. My husband works for Child Protective Services and he has had cases where drug abuse has been reported by Dr.s office and hospitals while the mother is pregnant and after the mother has given birth. He's even had to take newborn babies from mothers after delivery. This is a risk to the baby and believe it or not there are pregnant mothers who are indulging in drugs... So while inconvenient, it doesn't bother me at all. Glad someone is standing up for the innocent babies.
They drug test I am pretty sure at all prenatal visits to make sure you stay away from drugs for obvious reasons. I started my pregnancy in California and now I'm in Arizona, and both states have made me pee each visit.
Yes I got tested with my first baby and at birth but I haven't heard anything this baby
Most drs do drug test. Well in Florida. It's mostly health depts and stuff do rather than a OB that you actually decided. I went thru my local hd withy first and they tested me everytime i came in. I chose differently this time and picked one myself, he doesn't drug test.
