Yeah I have a friend who's daughter was constantly in a walker and she is ....not a hundred persent sure but she's over 14 months old and has only just started walking without needing help but she only walks on her tippy toes. Don't know if the walker has impacted that but seeing as I have many friends that have used one and many that havnt so far I'm pretty sure all the ones that havnt used walkers are leaps and bounds ahead of the ones that did use them . But also just depends on how much time they are stuck in them

I think my little one walked faster because of it. He was 9 months when he started walking. But I do get what your saying with it might be exercising the wrong muscles, some places ban them because of alegidly it gives kids hip issues. But everything in moderation and supervision

I'm not saying they are dangerous I'm just saying that it can delay a kid walking because it's not actually Woking out the right muscles needed for walking .... But many people stick their babies in them so they don't have to pay that much attention to them because it's a distraction and keeps them happy.

^ I read alot about it.  I had the type of kid that NEEADED to move. He was NOT a happy camper sitting still. The walker gave him freedom and he LOVE it.
I don't think I met a kid that ever got hurt or had issues from a walker.
To me it's like the bumbo seat. Parents expected it to "babysit" their kids. And that's when accidents or issues happen.

Just a heads up studies show that walkers aren't actually a good idea. They allow babies to move before they are actually ready for it.

I think we're only getting him a couple of things. I also don't see the point of it.  I have a 3 year old, so this babe will be getting alot of hand me downs. So maybe a  new outfit or toy.
I'm going to be focusing more on making Christmas keepsakes, or art projects. Getting molds of those cute little hands and feet to hang on the tree ;)

I'm planning to get him a walker and a few developmental toys for when he's a little older; but my BF and I agreed that Christmas this year will probably just be a wash seeing as our Little Man will only be a month and a half old. :)

I won't be getting my son a lot as he'll be around 2months then too. I am thinking however of little chrismasy outfits and a bean bag type car he can sit in to play with the little rattles etc. Just small things that I know he'll get use out of!
