Membrane sweep

Went to the dr today I am thinning out, 40% effaced and a fingertip dilated. My dr did a membrane sweep today and I was wondering if anybody has had any luck with those? My dr said if it works I should go into labor in the next 36-48 hours. I hope it works!!  I am 38 weeks today

Actually yes it does hurt it was very painful it only takes about 30 seconds but it hurt. And you will spot and cramp afterwards, but that only lasted a few hours.

A membrane sweep is when the dr checks you he also sweeps his finger around your cervix to disconnect it from the sac. It's to try and bring on labor. And thanks kyion_mommy and congrats on the baby!

My doctor did one Thursday I had baby boy Sunday. But I had sex Sunday night. I say if nothing happens within that time have sex, and for me sex felt the same like the doctor doing the membrane sweep. Good luck with that I pray for safe delivery for you and baby
