Is labor near ?

Okay so I will be 37 weeks tomorrow and I have been having more  noticeable contractions throughout the day. It all began saturday afternoon, they were not painful but I had some mild cramping with the tightening belly happening about 10 minutes apart for about two hours and only lasted about 30 seconds, I would change positions and they came further apart but closer together when laying down. They completely stopped so I did not worry and did not call my OB (this is my 2nd pregnancy), Sunday I had a few again more further apart and same for Monday which I also noticed in the mirror that my belly looks much lower. Since Saturday I have also noticed that I am having more discharge than usual looks like small bits of "snob" (sorry tmi) but no bloody show.I walked my daughter to school this morning, literally down the street and as I was walking back home I felt my belly tightening quite a few times but then it completely stopped once I got home.

What do you guys think, could this mean labor is near? I have 22 days left and I cannot wait for this baby to come out lol I just dont want to get my hopes up. Also I had my oldest at 38 weeks.

I will gladly welcome all of this irregular contractions lol for my first I was in labor for about 8 hours it went pretty smoothly. I know every pregnancy is different but I still get a little scared and hope it goes as well as my first lol I have an appointment this friday and was thinking of asking my OB to check if I am starting to make any progress

I have been having alot of contractions for about 2 weeks now. I'm 36 weeks 5 days today. I was worried and went in for a visit. Dr said that any contractions now that are irregular is a good sign that I won't have a long labor. Basically my body and baby are doing things that it won't have to during active labor. I was not dilated at all, but my cervix is thinning already.  Your mucus plug can start to loosen for weeks before delivery and sometimes even regrow. As long as your contractions are not 5 mins or less apart for the hour you are doing just fine ;) could be soon or you could go to full term. Makes me crazy thinking about the fact that I have no control over this huge event or any idea when it might happen lol. Good luck! We are almost there!

I feel like I should also mention (tmi) but I been having more soft stools and is not because of dehydration, I drink plenty of water. I have heard that for some moms thats a sign of your body cleaning out
