Dr. Appt from HELL :(

So I went to the doctor today for my 16 week check up and baby is doing great! However I saw the nurse practioner who I've had problems with in the past... At 12 weeks she said I was overreacting to my morning sickness and all she could do was prescribe zofran and if I declined then I can't complain... Well today we noticed I've lost over 15 lbs since week 8 and she said that "since I started at such a high weight I was fine where as the average girl would be an issue." EXCUSE ME?!?!? I weighed 140 pre-pregnancy....  Then I had brought up that I have what feel like menstrual cramps for the last 6 days and they are very strong all day and almost crippling pain... To which she responded "oh that's fine." No explanation at all or even a question to try and find the cause of these... I brushed it off and continued to ask about an inflatable 5k race coming to town next month and she told me that given my weight I shouldn't.... I'm sorry... I don't know if I'm overreacting or not but I'm done with her!!! Can I refuse to be seen by her????? please help I'm so offended

No I refused the zofran because I've seen all the commercials on tv!! That's what I was so shocked when she said I could no longer complain about the nausea and vomiting since I declined her only remedy...

I hope you didn't take the zofran there's a lawsuit going on with them . It's causing birth defects. Please talk to your doctor if you have

I'm glad you said something! It's such a pain switching doctors so I am happy to hear you were able to work this out in a different way. Go you!!! :)

Got to talk to her supervisor earlier today and after explaining everything that has happened with this particular practioner she got silent ... She sat there jaw wide open and after a bit she got up  assured I wouldn't be seen by her again and apologized the best she could for this lady... She opened the door and all I heard was "where the hell is jenni?!?" ..... I'll just say I don't think she'll be a problem or concern to anyone anymore.... It's for the best

Are you KIDDING? I would be switching doctors SO quickly. I can't believe she treated you like that! Also, I weigh WAY more than you and I dance my butt off doing zumba 3-4 times per week, and I am doing a "color run" 5k in 2 and a half weeks from now. Screw this nurse! Always go with your gut (no pun intended! :p) because your intuition is always right!

140 is not overweight! Crippling pain is not normal, and you can take something other than zofran. I had severe morning sickness and they didn't give me zofran. tell your dr the problems not her. And if your doctor doesn't do something about i. Change.

Im over weight and no one has ever talked to me like that. I wouldnt like her attitude either. Did you get to see the dr? I would have asked the dr the same questions. I would ask for a different nurse when they try to give you her maybe it won't be a problem to see a different one.
