blood type

I found out at the doctors today that I am O- and that I will most likely need the rhlg shot at 28 weeks.  Did anybody else need to do that?  It's making new so nervous that something will happen to my baby before 28 weeks.

Nothing will happen to your baby relax I need it too . If you are rh negative but your partner is rh positive then there's a 50 50 chance that it could be positive or negative if you are negative but your baby is positive your body thinks there's an infection and sends anti bodies to that area to fight it.but it only affects pregnancies after this one ( that bit confused me) but I need the injection as well I was freaking out because a few years ago I had to have an abortion and was told of I got pregnant again I would need the shot again and was thibkig that if I didn't get it as soon as I fell pregnant the baby would die and I told my doc I had an abortion and was told that I would need it and she said its just to prevent your body fighting off the baby you have after this one ( of you have another one ) so I need the shot too don't worry

I had it before and will need it again with this little one. I'm not gonna lie the shot hurt a lot lol. Other than that your baby will be fine. The only time you have to worry is if you have a miscarriage they have to give you the shot right away cause the babies blood can't mix with yours if it's not your blood type

I was hospitalised at 5 weeks 6 days with a threatened miscarriage. It was standard procedure to give me the shot. I am O- and so is my husband. The shot did ache for maybe five minutes but I think the flu shot hurt me more and for longer. Nothing to worry about with having it at 28 weeks :)
