I had GD with first pregnancy  at 30 qeeks. This one I found out at 14 weeks. I've been taking the insulin  for night time sugars.  Tiff is spot on with the info.
They should send you to talk to a dietitian. Basically eat proteins and veggies. Mine told me to have carbs to help the baby growth. But limit them.
I know my blood sugar levels by now so I know what I can do.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm bad sometimes because this pregnancy I just hate food. So i go with what I can stomach but in moderation.

If u take insulin then skip a meal u get dangerously low sugar. If u don't take insulin and not eat, ur sugar will get dangerously high, b/C ur body can't produce any insulin. It's a struggle and I get reaal sick and tired of it. I missed my appt today because I feel like I know what I'm doing by now. I'm just over it.

This is the third pregnancy with ges. Diabetes. I take regular insulin 3x a day and long lasting insulin in the morning and at night. Now I use levamir flex pin for long lasting. U can't skip meals either, that doesn't help at all.
