indefinite ultra sound

So i went to my ob gyn today for my 1st prenatal check up.  I'm 5 weeks and 6 days. She saw a sack but she couldn't really make sure if what she saw was the baby or some kind of shadow.
She said if it's a shadow then we are good but if that is a baby that is measuring up to 8 weeks or so. That can't be right also them the baby would have a heart beat by now which there was none.
She has taken my blood test for hcg levels. I go in 2 days again so she could measure them again.
I'm referred to another radiologist for an ultrasound so they could have a better look.
Any one else had that issue?  I'm nervous one week is a long time to wait if the baby is okay.

I got the vaginal one too. I have a bladder prolapse due to my previous pregnancies so everything is a mess down there.  My uterus is tilted down in a very funny way it was very hard for her to examine me

I'm 7w1d today and had a experience like that. I had a positive test and due to and history of complications my doctor sent me for a dating scan. I believed I was around 6w so was deflated when they picked up on a sac but nothing else measuring at approx 4w. I had to.wait 12 days to go bk by which time I had convinced myself it was not to be (AGAIN) However on my second internal scan I showed at 6w2d with a due date of 12th October x stay positive what will be will be x xxxx
