I have heard that there are some blends you should stay away from I cant just think of them right now. But there is cough drops, without menthol. Also if you click on my name I have a list in my journal of safe meds from my ob if worse comes to worse
Honey soothes coughs so maybe a caffeine free tea with honey. Or warm water with lemon and honey. my midwife says the only medication she wants me to use is Tylenol, and a benadryl plus Tylenol if I get a migraine. So I'm assuming cold medicine isn't safe.
As far as I know, tea is totally safe.you just want to watch the caffeine if you've had coffee or something but most tea is pretty low in caffeine compared to sodas and coffee.

I drink a lot of decaf black tea every day. From what I understand, it's the herbal tea to stay away from and full caffeine black tea in moderation. Brewed tea it's pretty low in caffeine compared to other drinks.
Robitussein dm is approved for throats/coughing, benadryl to sleep/sniffles, and tylenol for pain/fever. All 3 can be taken at once per my midwife, dr and care clinic. If you need something to stop the coughing you can get a prescription for tesalon perles and they really help too
