Did you really just say that?!

So I have been having problems ever since 30 weeks of pregnancy been to the ER three times because of problems.  Since Wednesday I have had swollen feet and elevated blood pressure.  I hate going to the hospital because I feel like they think that I over exaggerate my problems and I can't stand that so I try my best to refrain from going. Since Wednesday. . I take my blood pressure this morning and it's 166/89 and I call they tell me to come.im immediately. I have no way to get there but to get a ride so I ask my aunt.she says "oh that's just a little elevated"
I ignore her and go ask my grandmother.  She says to me "you just want something to be wrong with you. You just trying to make yourself be sick and I'm like are you serious?  So now I'm stuck in the house without a way to get where I need to go with people who think I'm faking and I'm Just tired. Tired of everything.  The hospital. ..my know - it - all family and having to try to plead my case like I'm faking or making things up. Just so aggravated and frustrated I could cry.

No wonder your blood pressure is elevated. You seem to be very easily stressed. Drink some water, go lay down or take a relaxing bath.

I agree , just take a shower & relax . If you have any aspirin take one of those as well, and keep yourself hydrated with plenty of water . Nobody knows what you feel but you! They sound like grumpy people .

No, don't take aspirin while you're pregnant. One of the dumbest things I've heard on here. Everyone thinks they're a doctor. Just relax. Take a bath or shower. Aspirin can harm the baby and will do nothing to reduce your blood pressure.

Wow. They sound like they are very high-and-mighty. You know, the "I've been through it with no problems at all. Everyone is the same" type. Were they accepting of the baby when you first told them? I can't imagine they were if they're acting like this. And that isn't exactly "a little elevated". They have no idea what you are going through, even if they have been pregnant before. I say grab yourself some hot Chamomille tea, take a nice soothing bath and try to relax. Maybe it'll help take your blood pressure down a little bit.

I was told earlier in pregnancy that I was at risk for pre eclampsia.  I was even given a blood pressure monitor to make sure to keep an eye on it. Since about 3 months I haven't had any problems with it but for about 4 days now it's been getting higher. Feet and face are swollen and although it's normal during pregnancy. .they just got swollen on Wednesday.  It's very frustrating to be told that I'm faking or lying or forcing something to be wrong when that's the last thing I would do. Took my blood pressure first thing this morning  and it was 166/89!

How is taking aspirin one of the dumbest things you have ever heard, she's so rude! & I said to take aspirin because my doctor told me it helps your bp stay down instead of rising . Because it can cause problems!

If they say come in right away and you have no ride call an ambulance. It's your best bet. Always listen to your doctor they know best

The rude things your family says and the fact that you need to get a ride to the hospital are two separate issues.

Don't go lie down an try to feel better.

You need to get to the hospital,  honey.  Preeclampsia is very dangerous and you are at risk.

You need to find another way to get there,  even threatening to call an ambulance if they won't take you.

My doctor prescribed me "low" aspirin, if you are at risk of preeclampsia you NEED to talk to your doctor about taking it hun!

The only meds you can take while pregnant is Tylenol. Anything else has a negative risk of effect on baby

I would call an ambulance to come and pick you up! Preeclampsia is no joke, and you need immediate care for your child :(
I'm so sorry that your family is horrible, if I was there I'd bring you myself!

Aspirin should NEVER be taken during pregnancy unless advised specifically by your Dr. All NSAIDs pose the risk of causing birth defects as well as increased likelihood of neonatal cardiac and respiratory problems when taken in the third trimester. It is one of those meds that the benefits really need to outweigh the risks in order for your Dr to advise it. If your BP is that high you should be checked out to make sure things aren't getting worse. I too have several signs of preeclampsia, but I am 39+4 and will most likely be induced on Monday because of it.

Well I'm at the hospital and thank god no protein was found in my urine and my pressure had went down but I have to be induced within the next 2 weeks. I'm 80% thinned out and 4.5 cm dialated.  They said my body is ready for labor...and baby staying in their longer may continue to cause the spikes in blood pressure which could be very dangerous to us both.  I kinda feel like my body failed me. I wanted to go to my due date even though I hear all the time that I won't make it. But what's best for baby is always my first interest
