Thank u guys I'll try again..
Ahhh, I'm sorry you were turned down hon! Hm, most moms I know and women in general are open to friends. If you were chatting regularly to her and felt comfy enough to ask her to do something, it is odd that she said no. Boo, sorry for that. Sometimes when asking, it helps to have a plan such as "there is a great smoothie place around the corner, I'd love to go have one. Want to join me?"
It always helps to notice who also looks like they can use a friend. The lady chatting with 20 people is busier but the one who hangs in the back by herself can probably use a friend too. Go for that woman.
Now, I think you are doing well at a mommy prenatal yoga class--- you'd think ladies there would be interested. But go ahead and keep joining things to meet people with similar interests. book clubs, volunteer groups, etc. If you are in the states, there is something called MOPS international. It's usually run out of a church but you don't have to be religious to join. all moms and you meet once a month. They provide a nursery for the kiddos. You sit with the women and they have food, discussions, a craft, etc. And then they do things such as play dates out,. I met one of my best friends at mops. Also the YMCA, YWCA organization has classes for kids and mommies. google in your area for what is around.
Hang in there. Having kids definitely gives you a major thing in common with other moms. it will be easier. good luck
I'm from the UK so I'm not sure where you would find them in America, but ask your midwife or doctor they may be able to help, that's where I got the information from in the UK.
Where would I find baby and toddler groups?
I highly recommend baby and toddler groups after the babies born. I took my daughter to one when she was 4 weeks old and 5 years on I have some of the most amazing friendships from it and my daughter has got loads of friends she's known from birth now and their bond is amazing.
Once the babies born conversations are so easy with other mums cause everyone has labour stories, helpful tips or need advise on being a new mum and it's really easy to join in.
