bats upstairs

There is bats in the upstairs of my boyfriends house, theyve owned this house for 20 years and dont think its a problem since they used to sleep upstairs, it needs to be rennovated before they can be turned into rooms again but they want to have a room upstairs for my son when hes born, im not sure when they plan on that and iv been staying here half the time because my bf would rather be here than my apartment, they have picked up the poop thats up there but your not suppose to do it yourself your suppose to have a proffesionall remove it which costs thousands of dollars, they dont think its an issue but i can still hear the bats up there at night and will not allow my son to sleep up there let alone be up there, but since they dont think its a big deal how do i tell them without confilict? I feel like it will offend them and anytime iv said something before i just hear well weve lived here for years and were fine.. but i dont want my son sleeping in a room with guano.. help?

Oh boy.  This would be unacceptable to me.  I just couldn't subject my baby to that!!  From bat poop and pee to rabies to just the eebie jeebies . . .   I couldn't do it.  I'd tell your boyfriend your feelings.  I'd make sure that you don't leave your baby there over night without you so you can make sure they don't stick him up there!  YUCK.

Bats carry rabies. They are the reason why cats and dogs require yearly rabies vaccines. You're the mom and you have your own place to live, PUT your foot down and tell your lazy loser boyfriend that you're not coming back to his filthy disease ridden house until they get rid of the bats and renovate it up to standards.

Someone has to look out for the welfare of that baby. If you get bitten by a bat and require rabies shots while pregnant? Why even risk it? Why put yourself in that position?
