how to tell my mother?

Im eighteen and just found out im five weeks pregnant, I don't know how to tell my mother the news. Any advice?

Thank you guys, I really needed that, it scares me to tell her since ive never been the type of person to share my personal life with my mother.  and yes I am working and currently in college. My boyfriend has been maintaining me financial wise for almost a year.

I showed my mum the positive pregnancy tests,  she was upset at first but came round to the idea after a few hours. I phoned my Dad to tell him and he was really pleased for us :)

I thought my parents were going to kill me and I'm 19! They were upset, but the stress of telling them caused lots of complications and I ended up miscarrying my baby. If you think it is going to really stress you out, wait a few weeks before you tell your parents and def stay calm the best you can. Now I'm 15 weeks pregnant and still afraid to tell my parents again.. waiting until after my appointment tomorrow to tell them (maybe). Good luck!

Mom usually are excited. Its the dads that arent, but you didnt ask about him. I wouldnt know how to tell my mom since she guessed it before i was able to tell her. Do u still live with your mom?

I'm 16 and took my mom to find out if I was with me. she was excited. although just get her and sit her down to talk bc whether she's in a good or bad mood the outcome is the same with news of a baby. shock. then excitement of course!

I just walked in the room and lated the test down on my dads desk lol he asked what they were and I said im pregnant...he didn't know what to think at first but now he is excited and talks and being a grandpa all the time. Your mom will accept it either way wether its at the beginning or when your baby is born. Everything will be ok though :)

If you plan to keep the baby,  you need to come up with a plan before you tell your mom.

Find out if the baby's father is going to be there to help out with money and support.  Where will you work in the meantime to save up money to pay for the baby and pay for a place to live.  Come up with a budget and an idea of places you can live on that budget.  

Are you a high school graduate?  A senior?

I was out on a shopping trip with my momma when told her. She smacked me in the arm. Lol. But she is super excited about her first grandbaby. Your momma will be upset at first if she thinks you're to young, but she will get over it and love you and the baby more than she ever thought possible. Good luck sweetie.
