man rant

Me and my boyfriend decided months ago that we wanted a child. So I went off the pill and bam got pregnant back in january. He told me he was up for this but the last three months nothing has changed. I understand we were kind of locals at the bar but I can no longer drink and honestly the smell of alcohol makes me want to puke. He is still at that damn bar everyday and gets mad cause I won't kiss him cause his breath stinks! We got into a fight and he keeps saying he will be here in 6 months for the baby but it's gonna take him time to adjust. Give me a break. Mom's don't get 9 months to "adjust" we have to change our lifestyles immediately. Its called growing up. I just don't know if I can stick this out to see if he will change. I just don't really believe if he can't do it now that he's gonna do it in the future. I yelled at him for spending all his money at the bar and he tells me he does odd jobs for free beer. I found out today one of those "jobs" is picking up cigarette butts in the parking lot!! I am completely disgusted that he would rather do that then be at home with me. Please tell me this is not just my hormones and I have a right to be upset???

I think sometimes the father just doesn't get it.  It doesn't hit them until they can see it,  hold it,  smell it.  The fatherhood and responsibilitiy thing just doesn't come till later.  I would definitely keep trying to understand and let him be there.  It doesn't mean you have to kiss him when his breath smells like alcohol though!  Hell no.  I wouldn't either!  Lol keep your chin up girlie and think about that precious  little one that you get to have in your life very soon (: is all going to be worth it.

First off let me say id be severely upset as well!! I also have to say that guys tend to take a little longer for it to 'click' that there is going to be an awesome adorable little life in a few short months. Try to not get mad, angry, and yell. Try to explain how you're feeling; definitely easier sad than done but it helps. It helps all around, remember the baby can feel every emotion you are feeling so try your hardest to stay as calm as possible. For youe sake and the babies. Also if it helps at all, my daughter's dad made me feel similar the entire time I was pregnant; but as soon as she was born everything changed and he is a wonderful dad to her! :)

I think it's just emotions and hormones. You can't be upset now when you where ok with the drinking before. The most important person is the growing baby inside you. All of us mommies have to make sacrifices.  Daddies sacrifice by dealing with our emotional or bursts. Things will be ok. Just remember he doesn't understand what your body is going through.  Take a deep breath and grin and bear it.
