34 week appt. today....just another 13 days to go...and question.

Well I will actually be 34 weeks tomorrow, but my midwife decided to stop by today. Baby seems great! BP, and everything is normal. She actually said I look really small...that's different, because I feel HUGE! lol. I haven't gained any weight in over 2 weeks. She guessed the baby's weight right now at not quite 5lbs...she thinks I will have a smaller baby this time around, so we'll see. She also thinks it's a girl...lol...I am starting to think so as well...time will tell!!  I am still 4cm and baby's head is engaged and super low right now. No wonder I waddle to the bathroom all the time! My belly is measuring not quite 30 weeks though.
Strange! She said it could be smaller now because the baby has dropped more. Has anyone measured smaller once their baby dropped??
Either way, I am not worrying too much about it. She thinks when I go into labor, it will happen very quickly! Maybe in a couple of hours, so she told me to be prepared and call her whenever I just don't feel right.

Also, I had asked about the GBS test yesterday and if they would repeat it since mine came up positive. She wants me to do some things to see if I can reverse it and then Aug. 31 she will re-test me and see if it's still there. If it is, we will go ahead with the antibiotics during labor, if not, we will be okay! I have to start taking acidophilus, echinachea, garlic, vitamin c, grapefruit seed extract, and try this vaginal wash once a day. It will be interesting to see if it makes a difference or not. I figure it can't hurt to try these things and worse comes to worse, I will have to be on the antibiotic.

That's my update for now. I have just one more appt next week and then a few days later I will be in the clear and off of bedrest!! I am looking forward to going to the mall on Sept. 1st and just shop til I drop! lol. =)
Hope you ladies are doing well!!

I'm so glad to hear that you're still hanging in there!! I've been thinking of you these past few days & was hoping that I'd see you still had your little one giving Mommy a hard time. LoL

I too say not to worry about what measures up to what expectancy. My 1st one was conceived on 5/13/99. I know this beacuse it was the one & only time her daddy (B) & I made love without a condom. It was also our first time together. However, I had broken-up with a previous boyfried (M) just a week before & when I found out I was pregnant in June, the doctors insisted that the baby was too far along to be B's baby. They said I conceived on or about 4/26 w/my period having started on 4/12. Well, I'd had sex with M on 4/26 so we just assumed that the doctor's were right. We all three decided to let B sign the birth certificate & assume the daddy role (M had a drug problem). I was given a due date of 2/1/2000 but delivered on 1/14. At her birth, the doctors declared my 5lb 13oz daughter "full term". Yeah, that always seemed weird to me too.

Well, five years & two DNA tests (during divorce preceedings) later told me that the doctors were wrong. According to my calculations, my daughter was only 35 1/2 weeks when she was born which makes her a preemie. It all worked out since the right guy signed the birth certificate, but had he not the wrong guy would have and noone would have questioned her paternity because we thought the doctors, their machines, and their methods knew the right answer. I'm SO glad that had the DNA tests done, although not for the reason that they were done. Either way, the methods used to determine a fetus's age are all just educated guesses & should not be used to create concern. So...STOP WORRYING. You have better things to do. :-)

I see that you are using a midwife & I was really wanting to try that myself with my next pregancy. Both of my previous births were completed without drugs, ripping, tearing, or any other complication so I think my chances are good that everything would go smoothly. I really wanted an at-home birth with my last one, but Baby Daddy #2 was resistant to the idea of his 1st born child being brought into this world in our bathtub. This time, he says I've earned the right to do as I please. *Thanks Honey!!*

Can you give me some helpful tips regarding midwives? Did you use one with your last birth?

Amber, I guess it's really hard to tell exactly how big baby will be. But my midwife didn't seem concerned about me being so far behind right now. So I guess it's ok. You only have waht 2 more days right??? =)

colorado....yea...I am ALMOST convinced now....and even my husband is. lol. who knows! I'm just dying to know already.

I have been measuring up to 4 weeks behind this entire pregnancy...they did an u/s and he was "big". I don't have any other insight on that, sorry. :( I'm also positive for GBS, I'm feeling anxious about getting the antibiotics during labor. I'm sure things will work out.

You are so close to being off bedrest! YAY!!!
