36 week appt. and 5cm dilated!!!

So I had my 36 week check-up and everything is moving along. I have been off of bedrest for 2 days now and it feels great to be able to do things now. My midwife actually didn't want to check me today for some reason, but I insisted because I had contractions last night 3-5 min apart for almost 5 hours. Then I went to sleep and woke up to sporatic contractions all day today. She checked me and said I was 5cm for sure, head is right there, and there isn't much of the cervix left now. AHHHH Could be hours or days now. I am just waiting for that sign to call my midwife, but I have this fear I will not know when it is "real" labor. I wasn't in much pain with my son until 9cm....so I am freaked out again. I will keep you all posted if anything changes! I am getting scared and excited now. My 2nd GBS test came back negative, but my midwife is also worried that I won't have 4 hours to get the antibiotics when I go into full blown labor and to call her when I think it's time, but not too late. lol. Apparently I need to listen to my mom and if she thinks it's time (because I may not really know) then I have to go straight to her house and call on the way.
Also, I am still only 36 weeks...so I know baby will be on the smaller side...maybe around 6lbs by now?
What do you do when you are 5cm and 36 weeks? Do you just sit and take it easy? Go about life normally? Try to just get it started by walking or on the exercise ball? I'm not about to try to get it going in any other way, but I can't exactly stop it either. Just walking around the house could trigger something. I am just freaking out. It's getting close now!

5 cm and you aren't even in labor yet that is crazy. Keep hanging in there girl! You are almost full term!

Thanks Amber. I hope it goes as I planned! =) Yea, I have no clue how big this baby is and tired of all the guesses. One doc says it's a big baby, the other says a small one..but my midwife did say if baby was born now, he/she would most likely be just fine and a healthy size, if not, she wouldn't have taken me back at 36 weeks.  
yes, what a crazy ride! LOL I am just trying to be patient and wait for baby now....anytime!

Wow! Sending lots of prayers, I hope your delivery goes as you had it planned. :) As for size they told me Carter was going to be a large baby that at term he woud be at least a good 7 pounds. He was 5lb 15oz...I've learned not to trust size guesses or ultrasounds lol. I can't wait to hear about your little one! Gosh what a ride you've had!

It's crazy. Tues. night I had all these contractions, then wed. they were extremely sporatic and today...nothing!! lol. I'm losing it! With my son I was 5cm for 2 days...so maybe something will happen soon? How can you hang on at 5cm for so long? This is weird. I packed everything I will need and today I am going to finally organize all the baby stuff and put everything in its place. Other than that, I am just taking it easy and want to preserve my strength. Who knows when it will happen at this point, I'm just scared that when it does I won't have any time to get to my midwife and my husband will be delivering. lol.

You lucky girl! it sounds like your well on your way, wish i was. I had my stitch out tue and nothing has changed, just know im going full term. You do what ever you feel is right. Kel x

Goodness I would trade you one CM for... I dunno something if it were possible... Cuz then my doc would Induce me... Oh well I guess, congrats tho, sounds like you'll be meeting your baby very soon, good luck.

Wow! You are right there girl...your little "princess" will be here before you know it!!~wink! See now you are off bedrest and are too scared to move!!! I think all will be just fine...as far as size...I was told the day before I had her that she was around 6lb 2oz...she weighed 5lb 15 oz and I was 38 weeks! Please keep me posted!!
