36 week appt today. UPDATE

Ladies, so I had my 36 week appt today and everything is somewhat looking good for now. My cervix has started to soften (whatever this mean), still not dilated but OB is not too concern about it yet. Baby has for sure moved down some more and is still head down. I am only 50% effaced.....My blood pressure was a little high 125 when they took it, I think this was partially due to the heat I was exposed to right before I walked in the office. It was almost 98 degrees!!!!!!!!!!! I gained a total of 2/12 lbs in one week so again that's probably all the water retention I have going on.

On the brigther note, my GBS results came back NEGATIVE! I'm pretty happy about that and so is my OB. He seems to think I will break the family history of c-sections and have a good chance of deliverying normal...we will see about that. He also seems to think it will be in and out of labor and he thinks I will be deliverying the first week in September. For some reason he doesn't think I'll make it close to my due date....again we shall see about that...it aint like he has a crystal ball.LOL

Oh man, it cut me off lol. Can you believe how close we are all getting! I'm glad your GBS was negative, mine was positive and it's had me a nervous wreck. I'll cross my fingers for you Brandon decides he wants to come out soon... :) Hope you have a great week!

tatz a great detail on your appt.I have mine tomo and so many butterflies in the tummy. Hubby is not yet back from office trip, so my anxiety is all the more.
iv completed 36 weeks and begin week 37 from today, got ,my OB appt tomo, waiting to see my baby in the scan.
have blood sugar and GBS test tomo, keeping fingers crossed & praying that all goes well.
someone pl write a good motivatin mail...am feeling too low..dun ask me y i dunno.

Yeah i thought that was funny too. My doc is quite old and has quite a bit of experience (he has been in practice for 40 years) so I'm sure there is the truth to what he has to say. But again, I think only Brandon can determine when he is ready to come out. LOL. We'll see how it goes next week...

LOL thats funny, i say the same think about my dr, like she has a crystal ball.  My last appt i was 1cm dialated, cervix still hi, baby head down and she said the baby will not be coming no time soon, huuuuuh what crystal ball was she looking in lol.  That shattered my dreams lol.

Glad to hear all is well! You are getting there! 50% effaced is good!! Having a soft cervix means you will probably begin to dilate soon and that labor is approaching. Although the time frame in which it will happen is of course unknown! But you are making progress!! Glad to hear your GBS results were negative! Almost there now. =)
