Thanks so much for the gud news Nic! Im waiting another 1.5 weeks to get rid of sore nipples if the 6 wk magic really works for me :-)
Initially it was very tuft and sore, but it seems to get better at times though not always.
I do have this pain starting from my nipple right upto the end of aerola region after I feed Kisori (my daughter). Is this normal guys?
Its getting better for me finally. Eli is 8 weeks tomorrow. We have had issues with nipple confusion and have battled thrush for 7 weeks! I'm on my 4th week of diflucan and just got a refil for my son's nystatin. We tried everything before going to diflucan/nystatin: genitian violet, APNO, and grapefruit seed exstract. They all failed. Now about 75% of his feedings are pain free! Yay!
That's great Nicole, hopefully that will be me sharing the same news soon. My nippes are soo sore and cracked is not even funny.
LOL Latrice, for about a month I seriously was topless 90% of the time. If I wasn't nursing I was pumping. It was crazy. I was trapped in the house only because I couldn't get a shirt on long enough to go do anything.
Mastitis was nasty stuff it started out as pain in my breasts then they got hard and were hot to the touch. Nursing and pumping sent shooting pains from nipple to the top of the breast in fact it felt like it was shooting right through my chest to my back. I never got the relief from feeding her it just hurt all the time. It was caused from milk sitting in my breast too long because I didn't pump it all out or waited too long between feedings. If your crying while pumping or nursing and the pain doesn't go away after then you might want to get it checked out.
trinity will b 2 weeks friday, there is some nipple confusion, she will get lazy at the breast and try to jus latch on to the nipple, and boy does she have strong jaws. the pain is easing up and i dont have the sore/cracked nipples but my toes do still curl up at times.
now it seems as if all i do is nurse and pump, nurse n pump :(
how do u no if u have mastitis?
BF is the 2nd hardest job n the world, being a parent is the 1st
Oh man i cant wait for this to happen to me, guess ive still got a few weeks wait.
That's great!! Jesse is 3 weeks old now and I have noticed this week has been wonderful and hardly any pain whatsoever. With my first, it was a nightmare for 5 months...crazy!!! I'm thankful it's getting easier. I had mastitis as well and such sore nipples and would almost want to scream when he would latch! I have to say, each day gets better. I pump as well, and he does great with a bottle and is eating more now.
I'm glad you are feeling better and nursing is getting better for you!!
