Who else is starting the mini pill???

Ok ladies so as you know I am 5 weeks pp after my c-section and my doc has put me on this BC called the mini pill. I have never heard of this before and I am wondering who else is taking or planning to take it. I'm suppose to start it on Sunday but I am worried b/c I'm breastfeeding and not sure if it will affect my milk or most importanly the baby. Also my doc gave me some pills to reduce the water retention I am still carrying and says it's safe while breastfeeding. Who else outhere has taken this combination before?

Is the mini pill safe? Can you still get pregggo? I'm not tryin to get preggo for at least another year or so..

Please help me out with you comments, suggesttions.
Tks,
Arianna

Thanks ladies for the info. I'll be sure to take it at the same time everyday.

I'm going to take the mini pill but not until I've been nursing for 12 weeks because it will have less effect on my milk after that. It is effective birth control but you do have to take it at the same time every day.
I don't know anything about the med for water retention. sorry

Just went off it, since I stopped bfing.  To be honest, being on it made me quite nervous.  Directions say to take it at the same time every day (within 3 hours), and I'm not great at remebering things like that.  I felt like it would be safer to sie condoms as back up (tho we rarely did).
I started on it at about 2.5 weeks pp, and I do feel that it diminshed my milk supply somewhat, although there is really no way to know if this was the cause.
Now I am starting back on the patch, much to my pharmacist's discouragement.
