BabyShower BabyShower Ideas

Hey ladies, i was sitting here today thinking about my babyshower, me and my two sisters will be organizing it.  Thus far, it will be at old country buffett.  We have to call them to see if we can put table cloth's on the tables and have a few decorations.  What i wanted to no does anyone have a theme for there babyshower yet,  I would love to share ideas being its not like i will be making it to any of you ladies showers (it would be nice if i could:)

My cousin is doing blocks for her theme, her last shower she had an u/s pic for the cake, i thought that was cute.  Im hoping i can bring a very small cake.  If they let me bring in decorations im going to do a bottle theme, i thought of having a big bottle to use as a bank and for donations and for the raffle money to go in.  Then have a few little bottles on the table.  Then i was going to have bottle invitations, they are so cute, my sis jus ordered them today.  As of right now, shower will be June 20th or July 25th, we will have a 4sure date the end of this month.  I am so excited right now.

For gift bags it will be some candy/chocolate in a bottle and a bottle candle which also is too cute. She ordered those today also.  I also bought a belly cast from baby r us, i would like to bring that so the guest can sign it, i hope that say yes i can bring things in, if not, we may have to get a banquet room or something. 60 people is on my list but i no for sure 45 will be coming.

Can you beleive it ladies, we are almost at the half way mark, YaY.  Sorry this is so long.

So What Are your Themes and Ideas for your Shower

Well, it sounds like my shower in Maryland is June 20th, and my shower in NJ is June 27th.  Right now, my shower in MD is only women, but my shower in NJ may have a few men around (DH, a couple friends, my dad, my brother in law, possibly my uncle).  I think the theme for the MD shower is Winnie the Pooh, but I haven't had much say, other than the guest list and the date.

Hey Ladies, just wanted to share this with you....i dont know if you that are throwing your showers are planning on sending out paper invites or if evites are an option. (even those of you planning on doing little party type showers) but i found a website that you can make your own invite!! i was going to buy paper invitations but it was going to end up costing a lot of money that i really could spend on something else ya know... SO i took the picture of the invite i was going to buy and uploaded it and made it into an internet invitation....and that way i can also keep track of everyone coming, how many guests and total headcount period. its a really cool site.....

www dot pingg *******

and you can make them for anything you want to invite people too...anyway i thought i would share, i hope it helps someone out!! its free and saves a lot of money for those 100+  people get togethers!!

Ok so I think my shower will be on July 20th or 25th..not sure yet. My sister is putting it together. My theme will probably be Trendy Mommy - Baby Shower Theme. It think is really cute.

If it's a boy i'll go with the traditional boy stuff if it's a girl I'll go with girl stuff.

We are renting a party room that overlooks the outdoor pool and the room hold up to 150 people. We are renting round chairs and tables from a catering places that will come in and set-up the room. My Aunt will prepare the center pieces and she is paying for the catering food. My sister-in-law is in charge of the games and prices...=) and I will BE RELAXING EATING ALL THE FOOD =)

Those are cute. My wedding invites were like that with the parchment paper and then tied to a thicker stock. It was such a pain to print!

I say go co-ed on the shower!

so are most of you doing a coed shower (or BBQ =) ? we are, just seems like you hear more men going to showers these days. i know when i was younger and went to family showers or friends of my mom, there were no men around period!! i think its awesome to have the daddy there!! i mean, its all about us as it is so its great for them to have a day of 'pampering' too!!

Hey ladies, I am assuming that my shower will be in June or July, especially since I was told on yesterday that my baby will be born between 35-37 weeks, which I have calculated to be around the 5th-19th of August! I am too happy!

I was also told to stay out of the way and mnd my beeswax! So right now I have no input on the theme or anything...I was just told to start compuonding my guest list! It will be a co-ed shower! I can't wait!

Check out www. thebump. com  it give you great ideas on planning and all types of baby stuff for your area...there sister website the knot helped me a great deal when I was planning my wedding...

Mine is going to be on the 20th of June. My sister is planing it, but because she lives in Houston and we're in Denver she's going to fly up a few days before. I'm in the middle of a huge landscape project in fact there are about 10 guys out there now with shovels. Anyhow our remodel of the house and the backyard make our place a great location for my shower.

Those invites that you print from home are really nice. I did that for my wedding invites and they only cost me $30 for 200 invites. I had to print and then put them together with the ribbon, but the end product looked professional.

When are you guys sending out invites? What's the protocol for that type of event like a month before hand??

asking4, i no i saw one site where invites were that much but they were very cute.  The invites we got are actually little baby bottles with an address label on it and you ship it just like that. its 14.99 for 12, so it was like 75 dollas for 60 bottles.

Yvette that sounds very fun.

Nicmom: BBQ is a good one too, i had thought about that also but my family BBQ and have fish fries so much.  We even BBQ in the winter, i dont think i even want any BBQ for memorial day.

Thank you ladies for sharing, seems like we will have some nice babyshowers.

Oh, what dates are you ladies going for, i think im going for an early babyshower like June

I saw some invitations that I liked.  I haven't ordred them.  FOr the blank stock which you can print what you like on your computer it's about $2.00 an invite.   I'm leaning towards just making my own.

I'm not doing a traditional baby shower either.   In fact it will be a couples baby shower.  I am having a luncheon for our friends and family at a tea room.   They have a fabulous menu of lunch sandwiches and quiches and deserts.   The main desert will be choice of tiramisu torte, bread pudding, or lemon bar...so probably going to pass on the cake.  We are paying for the luncheon and it will be more about hanging out with family and friends to celebrate the new baby.   If someone brings a gift it's nice but not required.   And maybe just one shower game.

I'm doing a non-traditional shower. More like a baby bbq so no themes for me.

i LOVE baby feet!!! they are just too too cute so i am planning on doing a blue baby feet theme, if that is a theme =)  i know my aunt and nana who are throwing my shower out in cali are doing a little choo choo theme, its really cute.  i think a bottle theme will be cute, and i dont think they would have a problem with you bringing in a few decorations...shouldnt anyway! GL

i have a question, how much are you guys spending on invitations? i found a website (its on my personal computer that isnt working right now of course) anyway, the ones i want are the blue foot print 'fancy' envites (i think they were like a buck and some change per invite and thank you card) but you give them what you want the invite to say and the addresses and they type everything up and ship them to you. so they type up the invite and then all of the envelopes both for the invite and the thank you cards. i think it was going to be like $120. does that seem too much? (i am HORRIBLE at doing that stuff if i am not in the mood....im even worse at thank you cards, i just dont feel like writing out the addresses....and i dont think our printer is nice enough to do it on there although i should look and see)
