Havent felt the baby move :(

Im in my 18th week, and i dont feel the baby move like most of you do. I think in week 16 i did feel something, but i was not sure if it was the baby or the wind!
should i be worried?
A friend of mine told me that sometimes 1st time to-be-mums feel it in the 20-21st week.

Hey Friends,

Thanks so much for your comforting replies, im relieved now :-)
I checked with my doctor yesterday and she said, dont expect a hard kick yet, you have to concentrate and feel some floating kindda thing below your belly button.
So i guess i do feel something, not sure what below my belly button! or may be I know what i should be feeling so it is more of imagination...hahaha.
I'll wait for 20-22 weeks to get the lovely feeling.
thanks so much!

It's normal when it's your first pregnancy. I  think most first time moms don't feel it even until 22 weeks. Good luck! :) Just as NicMom said soon we will all be whining about getting kicked in the ribs lol.

It is harder with your first pregnancy to pick up on the movements. Plus if your placenta is sitting in front it could take even longer for you to feel those kicks. Don't stress about it and in no time at all we will all be whining about how much they kick us.

I'm just over 20 weeks, and overweight.  I also haven't felt a whole lot of anything either, so I wouldn't be concerned.  I freaked out a few weeks ago too, but one of my friends said that she didn't feel any movements until around 20 weeks with her first as well.  Every now and then I will feel something, especially in bed before I go to sleep.

Just mention it to your doc, but I think it's normal, especially if it's your first. This is my second and I felt movement a little bit earlier than with my son. I will be 16 weeks tomorrow and I still have days where I don't feel anything at all. I have a doppler, so it always puts my mind at ease. I don't think docs are too concerned before 20 weeks either. Also, the position of your placenta, baby, and uterus play a big part in feeling movement. If the baby is kicking toward the back, you won't know because they are still so small. You will feel those movements soon enough! And when you do, just know they won't be consistent until about 25-28 weeks. With my son, the movements weren't consistent until 28 weeks. hang in there!

This is my second pregnancy and im more aware of my body.  with my first pregnancy i didnt feel anything until about 5 or so months.  You probably felt something and just thought it was something else. Im 17w n 4d and this baby is very active, im not sure what he/she is doing down there but he/she is always moving, i feel the baby the most when its on the left or right side of the tummy.

When is your next OB appt, i would not be to worried but if it makes you feel better call your OB.
