Hicoping(sp)

Note: I'm a terrible speller!!  So sorry to everyone...

Any who, my son has begun to hicup after every feeding and sometimes during them.  I know it irritats him because he gets fussy when he gets them and he doesn't seem to go to sleep as good as if he didn't have them.  I dunno what to do, I've tried three different bottles to see if that cures them, but nope, it doesn't matter what bottle I use he always gets them.  I also burp him after every 1/2 oz to an ounce (getting a big burp everytime).  Any who I have no idea what causes them, let alone how to help him feel better or make them go away when he goes get them.  So I'm at a loss when it comes to those... if anyone has a cure of them or if they know how to avoid getting them, I would really appricate it.

Thanks,
Sarah

Mickey gets them alot too but they dont seem to bother him. He sometimes spits up but only maybe once a day. My MIL (in all her impotent wisdom.........) told me it was because of his formula and I asked my pediatrician and he said that most newborn babies get them it has nothing to do with what he's eating and it will pass with time.

Trinity gets them after every feeding, i read that it comes from taking in formula/breast milk to fast and air gets into the stomache, so what i try to do is even after she has burped, 15 min later i will pic her up and just pat her back to see if she will burp again, most of the times she does, so i no she must be getting air bcuz when she lays there after burping mayb an hour later she will burp, but i guess you cant hold the baby all day and burp them.  It is normal though.  I also read that the babies dont really no whats going on and its more irrating to the parent bcuz we think its hurting the baby bcuz it could look to vicious to them.

Okay I just wanted to make sure that it was normal and what not, Owen spits up sometimes when he has them.  And I think they give him and upset belly cuz sometimes I'll lay him down and go do something and come back and he'll have a big wet spot on his clothes, for no apparent reason... so I think he may be spitting up every time he has a hicups.

Hiccups are a normal newborn event. Bella use to get them at every feeding. The dr said she would start to grow out of it and she already has. Now we only get them maybe twice a day. It still drives me crazy because she usualy spits up when she gets them.

Give it a few weeks and it should get better.
