Questions regarding baby items

I had a few questions,  for those who are breastfeeding, what brand of pump are you going with, i receive wic and she told me they will be giving me a free single/manual pump by medela.

Also i was looking at baby beds and i saw some i like but when i scratched the wood you could easily scratch it, is that suppose to happen.  But i like the Espresso Pinehurst, Oak Hertiage, Cherry Royale and Cherry Eastside Collection, did anyone order a bed from babies r us?

I use the medela pump in style double pump. It's great! I found it on craigslist for 80 dollars. They usually run somewhere around 300 dollars. I met up with the lady and she only used it twice and it was in perfection condition. I am very happy with it and it works great.  I bought my crib at target last year. It was a litte over $200. I love it because it's so sturdy, durable, and has pretty much been scratch resistiant! Hopefully when this baby gets here, Jeremiah will be getting ready for a big boy bed!

Manual pumps are horrible!!  Blah...you don't want to use that....Medela puts out a good electric pump.   You can register (baby registry) and get a coupon for $20 off a medela pumps....some of the single pumps are about $90.00.   Or maybe try to get a gently used one from craig's list (buy new tubing and what not).    You will regret a manual pump and they hurt more!

I saw some cribs I liked at Babies R Us.  But I'm still shopping around for the crib.  I've yet to decide what color I am going to go with....I like Mahogany and White and maybe Cherry...I'm still deciding.   The one that I'm in love with , however, costs $900 bucks or so!  So obviously I'm still thinking about that.

Latrice,

I can't answer about the breast pumps, because i've never used one-- but from what I hear, medela is a good brand.

I wanted to mention that Walmart . com online has cribs that appear pretty nice and relatively inexpensive, and they offer free shipping to your local store.  I don't know how sturdy the wood is but they are brand names like Graco, etc and look good to me, and they have a large selection of colors, and also the convertible 4 in one cribs for much less than Babies RUs.

I'm going with walmart cribs because I have a budget since i'm buying for two ~

Have fun shopping for pink stuff =)  I know I am!

I think Medela is a good brand, but I really like the electric pumps.  I know they are much more expensive, but since I work, I really need something quick!  A manual is just fine though; especially if you will only use it occasionally.  If not, you will have some really nice looking arms by the time you are done nursing!  Ha ha!!

As far as the cribs go.....I haven't bought a crib in almost 8 years.  I wish I could be of more help w/ this, but I would look around.  Just try to compare quality.  I did get one from Babys R Us (the one I bought almost 8 years ago), and it has worked okay.  I still have it and may use it w/ this baby.  I actually needed 2 cribs at one time w/ my 2 oldest daughters.  They are very close in age.  Anyway, my parents bought me a VERY nice used one from a garage sale in a very nice neighborhood.  It actually had a Serta mattress that came w/ it.  Not the cheap ones that we would normally just purchase from the store.  I was like, "Wow, my baby has a Serta mattress"!  I felt kind of bad for my older daughter because her sister had a nicer mattress than hers.  LOL!
