You know, I wondered the same thing. My Ob measured the baby when I went for my last appt....so I'm no so sure how accurate that is.
I don't think so. These are averages, so your baby may grow more slowly now than other babies who have more catching up to do. Also--I still don't get it--how can they know a baby weighs 3.02 lb??? I would think there must be a lot of room for error there.
Umm, so that mean my baby will likely be overweight? As of 6/12 he was weighing approximately 3 lbs .02 onz. If my math serves me correctly he will likely be close to 10 lbs and a few extra onz if I delivery at 40 weeks, OUCH, that's a big baby. LOL
Though I'm sure there are wild variations from week to week, we can do the math based on averages.
Say you're 28 weeks like me, making 84 days to go til 40 weeks. Babies weigh an average of 2.22 lbs now and an average of 7.63 when born. That means baby should gain 1.03 ounces a day--Amber is right.
I got the #'s from this chart at Babycenter:

Don't quote me but I think at 28weeks they start to put on 1oz daily. (I should have used google before answering this on my own...of to compare lol).
