MORE CONFUSED THAN EVER ABOUT BABY GENDER...

Ok ladies, I just got back from my doc's appt. I'm about 22 weeks and a couple days. He was asking me how things went during the last scan at the radiology place and I told him I was a litte consufed and needed some clarification on the gender. I told him about whole story about how the tech first thought it was a girl and then 20 minutes later when I asked her to double check she said he had made a mistake and said it was a boy. I also told my OB how the doc at the u/s place had trouble himself finding the gender and then they concluded it was a boy.

I told my OB..."this may sound crazy but I went home and analyzed the pictures and the things they pointed out as the penis looks really long to me" LOL, he laughed and said, "well sometimes they can mistaken the cord and think it's the penis"..."why don't we take another look".

He proceeded to perform an u/s and was trying to find the "penis" of the baby to confirm it's a boy and couldn't. The baby had his/her legs crossed and wouldn't allow the doc to see its private parts! LOL. I thought that was CUTE. He tried it from all angles and said, "well I don't see anything that's sticking out other than the anbilical cord....but I don't want to make any determinations. Why don't you come back in another four weeks, you should be 26 weeks by then and I can make a better determination then. He said, " I will have my partner, the other OB who works at the office help me conclude the gender. He was laughing the whole time and thought it was cute.

LADIES, I DON"T EVEN KNOW WHAT TO BELIEVE ANYMORE...... Has this ever happened to anyone you know or you personally? How can they not tell me what I'm having? I think that's pretty ridiculous to be honest...all I want to know is it's a GIRL OR BOY! GGGGGGGGGGGGGG

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME OUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.

DESPERATE MOM in NEED OF ANSWERS!

It has happened to people i no, i was praying that my baby cooperated when i went. And she did, she opened her legs like look at me when the tech told us what it was.  Then the Dr came in just to scan everything again and then the baby mooned us, like look at me, im a girl lol.

I would be frustrated to. Hopefully you can tell my next u/s, and if baby is not cooperating, tell the tech you need to stand up for a min or even push your belly a little to make baby reposition his/her self.

During my initial scan at 17 weeks, the tech said, "Well, I think it's a boy, but it's kinda a weird angle and he wasn't being forthcoming with the pictures.  It's either a boy or a very engorged girl".  So, we told everyone that it was a boy but not definite.  Most people laughed when I said that!  Then I had a repeat scan a few weeks ago, and they confirmed it was a boy.

Yeah, I totally see your point. I could pay out of pocket but at this point I'm so devasted I don't even want to stress myself out anymore. I think I'm just going to wait until birth and try to find out anymore. This really s*cks...thanks for your inputs.

Yes it happened to me.
At 14 weeks I was told 2 boys!!!
At 16 weeks,  a girl and a boy
At 18 weeks, two girls...

My dr. and the nurse thought for sure there was at least one boy in there, but at my BIG ultrasound, the u/s tech said...  nope, it's definitely two girls.  and it has been that way ever since.

Needless to say, I had some returning to do...

Yes it's frustrating,  why don't you find a place that will look one more time for you, even if you have to pay yourself, usually it's around $125 bucks max.

It would drive me crazy (it did!) not knowing for sure.

Also if you wait till 26 weeks, there's a chance the baby will be so cramped in there that it might not cooperate during the scan.  Mine are already getting cramped in there and my bottom twin hides her goodies most of the time.

Sorry you're going through this.  It would drive me nuts not being able to shop yet.
