Merian(sp) IUD

I had my IUD impated on Mondy while I was in the beginning of my cycle and a had pretty sevear cramps before that, and after that they have continued to the about the same... I was just wondering if it's because the put the IUD in or if it's because the is my first period after I had my son.  Any advice would be greatly appricated!  Also when the actually put the IUD in, I had no pain, no cramping feeling... NOTHING and I was shocked!  Any who just wondering if the warrented a call to my doc or not.

Well today I don't have cramps... and I would have called my doc, however, it was Saturday when I just wanted to give up on this whole being a women thing and let my uterus eat it's self or bleed itself out of me... but I feel much better today, however, I have been having these terrible head achs all day.  But I calk that up to not having any cafeen all day and hoping that tomorrow it gets better.

My doc never asked about my period cycles, LoL so I'm pretty sure that it has nothing to do with it.  In fact he said that it should take away your period compleatly because of the hormons in it, however, if your doctor was thinking about the copper IUD that might have something to do with... I'm not compleatly sure about that one!  I know that the one that I have now like Eachatelain said causes your uterus to produce minimal linning along with the fact that you have a an object inside of you thus causing it an inhabitalbe enviroment for a baby as well.  Not to mention the hormons also cause you not to ovulate.  All in all I don't belive that it should cause any issues with your cycle.

Your cycle shouldn't have anything to do with it...All it does is use a hormone that makes your uterus produce minimum lining so that a baby is unable to nest there. So IDK why your period cycle would affect it at all? My DR said its been around for 8 yrs and theres no reported pregnancies from it....I would assume that anyone would be a good candidate?

I don't have an IUD.  I have a really really irregular cycle and my dr said I wouldn't be a good candidate for one...anyone ever heard that before? just wondering?
Any way - I'm on the pill, but my first period was BAD!  So heavy!  And bad cramps!

Its probably period cramps, not from the IUD. I got mine implanted Tuesday, and it cramped mildly all day Tuesday, but quit after that. Its not supposed to cause cramps after that first day. And I know my first period (I had it at 6wks pp) cramped HORRIBLY. OMG I was miserable for a wk.
